🚨 The Pepe Stream Bridge and the Ramarama Stream Bridge are two of the nine ‘priority bridges’ across the country to be replaced by NZTA.

“Visiting the Coromandel today, I understand the impact the current Pepe Stream Bridge is having on the local community and motorists that are visiting Tairua. At 81 years old, the single lane bridge is a bottleneck, with severe congestion experienced during holiday periods. I’m pleased we’re getting on with work to deliver a modern two-lane replacement” Transport Minister Simeon Brown says.

Work to reinstate walking access to Mautohe Cathedral Cove is underway as the Department of Conservation aims to reopen the popular track for summer 2024-25.

Minister of Conservation Tama Potaka today announced distribution of International Visitor Levy funding – including $5 million to build, open and maintain overland walking access to Cathedral Cove.
