Join Thistle Pettersen as she hosts this discussion among four feminists who disagree on the topic of whether feminists should work with right-wing politicians in the fight for girls' and women's sex-based rights. Join in the discussion live in the comments to find out why these women think the way they do about working or specifically NOT working with the right. Jeannette is a mother, scholar, and a founding member of Partners for Ethical Care, a nonprofit organization focused on raising awareness and supporting efforts to abolish the affirmation model of “gender identity.” She has testified in legislative hearings across the country supporting bills to protect children from "gender identity affirmation." She resides in Chicago and has been vaccinated against right wing cooties. Holly Hart has been a second-wave feminist and lesbian activist since 1970 when she founded Portland Gay Liberation with two gay men. Holly was the Chair of Oregon's Task Force on Sexual Preference, the first official state entity in the nation to study and make recommendations on how homosexual women and men could be better served by government and non-profit organizations. As an attorney, she represented many gay women and men in child custody disputes with their former heterosexual married partners. In 1980 she opened up Old Wives' Tales Restaurant and Women's Center, providing a place for second-wave feminists to gather, and as the first alternative to lesbian bars in Portland. OWT served the women of Portland in this way for 34 years, until 2014. After retiring from OWT, Holly became active in radical feminist organizations like Sovereign Women Speak, WoLF, WDI-USA, and is now Oregon Co-Chapter Leader for Gays Against Groomers. Ann Menasche is a civil rights attorney living in San Diego, CA. She is a lesbian feminist who is a founding member of FIST (Feminists in Struggle), a political group for women in the U.S. to organize and strengthen female solidarity. Ann is a member

Thistle interviews Marie-Luise Vollbrecht

Despite everything, Marie keeps speaking out publicly! Join Thistle as she catches up with Marie Vollbrecht about the terrible defamation campaigns launched against her for daring to say there are only two sexes, male and female. Marie-Luise Vollbrecht is a biologist who graduated with a Master of Science focused on evolutionary biology, animal physiology, and neurobiology. She is currently doing her Ph.D. in the neurobiology of weakly electric fish at Humboldt University, Berlin. Marie is a leftist feminist, activist, and prostitution abolitionist. In 2022, she first spoke out publicly about risk and concerns surrounding gender ideology affecting biology as well as children and puberty blockers. As a consequence, she became publicly known after the university canceled her talk about the reality of two sexes in biology scheduled as part of the public science event “long night of science” in Berlin. The university could not provide safety for the event after trans activists called for cancellation and organized a rally, sparking a public debate in Germany about freedom of science and speech and trans activism. The trans rights activists' portrayal of Marie as a right-winged extremist, a TERF, and a Nazi was taken up and shared widely by several media outlets, public figures, and politicians. Afterward, the three biggest trans rights organizations, supported by taxes, started a defamation campaign calling Marie a denier of Nazi crimes. As a reaction, Marie started a go fund me campaign to cover the cost of lawsuits. All three of these women were at the April 23rd, 2022 Speakers' Corner in Madison that drew hundreds of TRAs and feminist activists and was the largest demonstration to date of its kind. WDI USA Peaceful Demonstration in St. Augustine, FL

Join Austin DeVille (WDI-USA) and Thistle Pettersen (WLRN) as they stream this first in a series of live WDI USA events to be held in different cities across America. This peaceful demonstration takes place in St. Augustine, Florida, and features speakers Lierre Keith and Kara Dansky in honor of International Women's Day. Other speakers TBA. Lierre Keith has been a radical feminist for 40 years. She is the author of seven books, including The Vegetarian Myth: Food, Justice, and Sustainability, which has been called “the most important ecological book of this generation.” She is coauthor, with Derrick Jensen and Max Wilbert, of Bright Green Lies: How the Environmental Movement Lost Its Way and What We Can Do About It. She lives in northern California with giant trees and giant dogs. She’s also been arrested six times for acts of political resistance. Kara Dansky is a public speaker, writer, and consultant who is committed to protecting rights, privacy, and safety of women and girls on the basis of sex in law and throughout society. In November 2021, she published the ground-breaking work The Abolition of Sex: How the ‘Transgender’ Agenda Harms Women and Girls. She currently serves as President of the U.S. chapter of Women’s Declaration International (WDI) and served on the board of the Women’s Liberation Front from 2016 to 2020. Joey Brite is a second waver feminist & lesbian activist w/roots centering women, lesbians & child safeguarding. She is a social & cultural critic who isn't afraid to *go there* and has the scars to show it. Joey lives in the Bay Area and has been closely following the facts and analysis around this case. Amie Ichikawa is formerly incarcerated and the founder and executive director of the small nonprofit organization Woman II Woman.
