Metal is kept in the underground by the mainstream, but in the age of the Internet, there is no such thing as underground really. Good music will naturally find its audience!
Our mission is to remain at the helm of Heavy Metal radio in New Zealand by showcasing the biggest and best bands, new material, and also to shine a special spotlight on local New Zealand talent. We are the victorious, unrelenting independent force that is metalradio.co.nz.
We are not people in shirts and ties, we are metal fans in metal t-shirts and black jeans, who are passionate about the music, and spending our own money and time not for profit, but to give back to the genre we love.
Since 2011 we have broadcast at $0.00 financial gain. We are not a business. We are a movement. You will not find ads for p***s enlargement pills or hair regrowth formula on our station, like the feeble FM rock stations here in NZ, run by a bunch of business people. No no no. What you will find is excellent music carefully selected by lifelong fans of the genre.
