One of New Plymouth’s most distinctive central office blocks has seen the modernist monolith undergo a major metamorphosis courtesy of a total transformation at the hands of its iwi owners.

The revamped Ngāmotu House, formerly the Atkinson Building on Devon Street West, was unveiled in February after a two-year redevelopment to turn it into a cultural and commercial hub for Māori and Taranaki businesses.

Writer, Nick Walker, shared more about this amazing transformation in our recent 150th issue. Head to the link below to read more...

Craig and Jo Cook describe themselves as ‘your average Mum and Dad’ and when the kids wouldn’t leave home, they did.

But it wasn’t your usual six week European sight-seeing holiday most middle-aged couples embark upon. This was going to be an 800km trek through the Indian side of the Himalaya Mountain Range.

You can read all about it below, or in the latest issue of LIVE.

Check out the article online by Hannah Mumby and catch the Taranaki Steelformers Airs in action when they take on the NBS Nelson Giants on Sunday night.

Despite a 2023 season that struggled to deliver similar highs of the one prior, the Taranaki Steelformers Mountain Airs are doing everything right to rekindle the magic that captivated the community…

Delivery of 13,000 copies of Live's Spring issue starts today! 🌷

There are a total of 372 boxes containing 35 magazines each, and each box is picked up and carried at least twice. No wonder my arms feel a few inches longer by the end of the day!

From myself and the team at Live, we hope you all enjoy this season's issue. With a mixture of fashion, gardens, art, travel and business, we feel very lucky to have captured so much of our community vibrancy within this issue.

Thank you, as always.

Live Magazine - New Plymouth

A free lifestyle magazine for New Plymouth, LIVE was first published as a monthly magazine back in Dec 2004. These days we do 5 issues a year, with each issue at least 100 pages in size. Circulation has grown dramatically since LIVE went from a monthly magazine to a bi-monthly format in 2012. We are now printing 12,500 copies per issue, up from 10,000.

We focus on delivering engaging stories about local issues and people, in a quality format. All of our editorial is from local writers and most of our images are taken by Taranaki photographers. The magazine is A4 in size and printed on glossy 100gsm paper in full colour.
