Leaving your inside a vehicle on a warm day is extremely dangerous - even with the windows cracked open. Dogs struggle to regulate their body temperature and can quickly overheat. Don't risk your dog's health this .

You could face a $300 fine if you leave your dog unattended in a car.

If you're worried about a dog locked in a car, please call the Police or your local SPCA immediately.

There are a number of parks, reserves, beaches and public areas that are perfect for exercising dogs. TECT All Terrain Park is one of our favourites.

If you feel like venturing a little further afield, head to TECT Park on Whataroa Road (off State Highway 36). There is a one-hectare off-leash dog exercise area, which is fully fenced and suitable for dogs of all sizes over the age of four months.
