Hi Auckland friends, This morning I went and visited the Dorothy Butler Children's Bookshop in Ponsonby. I asked the lovely store owner, Helen, how things were going. She looked really downcast and said "Well, look around." I did. There was no one else there in the store. No other customers arrived during the time I was there. Helen told me that "No one wants to go out, so no one is coming in here." The Dorothy Butler Bookshop has the most amazing range of kid's books in Auckland, from infants through to teenagers. They have a beautiful selection of non-fiction books that are perfect for home learning and exploration. The staff are skilled at helping you find the perfect book for your child - be they a reluctant or an avid reader. If you don't feel comfortable heading in to store, you can buy online. I've bought online from them in the past, and they are really prompt at sending books out - even for rural delivery. Woohoo..congratulations Chris..

🤩WOW!!!🤩 A very BIG thank you to Funky Kids Radio.com.au who announced my song 'Kia Ora Are Such Beautiful Words' as the WINNER of the Presidents Award at the Global Funky Kids Radio Awards last night!

There was over 180 songs/videos from 11 different countries nominated so it's such an honour to be given this award for not only songwriting but for the incredible work Whoa Studios and their team did in the creation of this music video!

I was invited to speak on an awards livestream last night under the guise that I was talking about the incredible children's music scene in New Zealand - so it was truly a surprise that I was given this award.

A huge thanks to Richard Morris who produced the song! And Itty Bitty Beats who sang backing vocals.

I love this song because as the title says, the words Kia Ora are very beautiful! They mean hi, good health, well wishing, and they are very welcoming. They will often be the first word that someone says to you, a lovely way to send love and show gratitude, no matter where you are from, there's no need to be shy, say KIA ORA proudly, go on...give it a try! 🌟
