You only have to look around to see what is connecting and creating communities in the social media space.
Connection is formed through real content and a willingness to share yourself and the person behind the brand. Hide behind a logo and you are automatically at a disadvantage.
Using chat Gpt to do all of your content? ... we can tell 😅 Using Ai for comments too? Those generated comments don't sound real and they don't build a connection.

Engagement reigns supreme! 🙌 No surprise there.

Videos love 'em or hate 'em they are here to stay 🤩 So start filming.

One thing I have learnt when it comes to Social media marketing...

✅ Is that you need to tell your audience where to go.

People want to know how they can work with you. The less searching they have to do the better.

You can add a link in your stories, a call to action at the end of your caption or send them to the link in your bio.

If you have an audience, you are doing them a disservice if you don't tell them how to work with you.

One thing I’ve learned is if you are creating content purely for gaining followers you are missing out on attracting your ideal client‌.

And that’s exactly why I no longer post for the masses.
‌
Because when I am posting for the masses I am not solving my IC problems and showing them that I am an authority in my field.

Have you heard of the saying when you try to please everyone you please no one?
‌
So, here is your permission to take your focus off the followers ( it’s a vanity metric anyway and you are better than that ) and focus on your IC and the niche that they belong in.

I'm talking about comparing yourself to that other super successful business or that woman that seems to have the Midas touch.

Get out of your head and focus on your lane.

Comparison really does suck the joy out of life.

So instead try this...
🥂Celebrate those that are doing well and celebrate yourself.

And remember not all that you see on social media is to be believed.
It's often a highlight reel of somebodies business/life and they have s**t days too.

Have a weekend off posting 🫠

But when that coffee hits you smack in the face on Saturday or Sunday morning, jot down ideas that could spice up your feed 🌶️

That doesn’t mean you have to dance it could just be changing up a lip syncing theme that you’ve been doing (but is getting your business nowhere) to a behind the scenes reel.

Do you know why Celeste Barber has 9.4 million followers?

You guessed it! She's real and relatable.

Now I'm not encouraging you to take off your clothes and mock celebrities like she does. I just want you to take this one point away from this post.

👉Perfectionism is not the goal of your social media.
You want to be an authority in your field yes, but you also need to show a human side to your company.

Laugh, joke, ruffle some feathers. Relate to your audience's pain points but bring some personality.

By seeking perfectionism in your content (whatever that looks like) you are doing yourself a disservice.

And it is BORING. (sorry about the yelling 🤣)

I work with Women-run companies; they all find the most engagement when they showcase personality and step away from perfectionism.

This week our small town lost a woman who paved the way.

Her name was Georgina Beyer and she was the first Transgender mayor in the world. She broke down barriers for the LGBTQ community.

It was quite a big deal for our small (quite conservative, farming industry) town.

But she won the vote and people loved what she did for our town. She was mayor from 1995 to 2000.

She had so many obstacles that she fought against and was an inspiration of what is possible.

Today is International women's day, and I think it is really important to acknowledge all the women who have paved the way and broken down barriers for the benefit of the future generations.

So here's to all the strong women putting themselves out there.

Let me tell you one thing I have learnt from working with businesses and their social media accounts.

Often business owners are so busy in the day-to-day running of their company that they don't stop and look at it from an outside perspective.

❤️One of the greatest joys I get from doing what I do is breathing a bit of life and spark back into these business owners. I love discussing goals and dreaming up possibilities to best market their business to their audience.

So if you have a mid-size business, you can't quite afford a full-time marketing specialist but want an engaged, growing, loyal audience through social media.
Perhaps a social media marketing contractor (Hi there 👋🏽)might be just what you need. 😉

Try these

1️⃣ Go into social media with a list of what you need to get out of it. ie) Find 5 reel ideas for this week's posts.
Get off the app as soon as you have accomplished your task.

2️⃣ Set an alarm for 20mins to remind yourself to get off the app. Hands up who has accidentally scrolled for hours 🙋🏼‍♀️😳
One minute we are researching posting ideas for our business 🤓 the next we are two hours deep reading the comments of a very controversial post about a celebrity🤣

3️⃣Have a content plan so whenever you open Facebook you can easily post, take the overthinking away and get creating. YOU GOT THIS💪

It takes time to grow a presence on social media, and the more you post, the more you will attract.
