Issue 28 is now available!

Our focus this issue is on living with our weather.

Spring weather always provides a stark reminder that strong weather events – and their impact on homes and buildings – is an important focus for landscapers tasked with designing and delivering the landscaping that helps homeowners make the most of the elements.

Whether it’s pool (and barrier) installation for heat relief, pergolas to keep out wind, planting to suit local weather or permeable paving to mitigate flooding, there are ways to create landscapes that not only weather – but help homeowners enjoy – a variety of climates.

We ask landscapers from different parts of the country to share region-specific project requests, feature advice from insurance expert Ben Rickard on having your sum insured right when it comes to equipment, and delve into the latest news on whether remote inspections will become default for councils.

PLUS we feature a Registered Master Landscapers insert on the newly inducted Landscape Legacy Award recipients and the Young Landscaper of the Year competition.

Issue 27 is available now!

Our focus this issue is building & breaking down barriers.

From readers experience with fencing regulations to using barriers to shelter from the wind to the consents to consider, we have fencing covered this issue. We even have an article on literal fence coverings – aka climbers – and the recent landscaping trend of ‘fedges’.

When it comes to breaking down barriers, we are pleased to focus on the women breaking into the industry. We highlight two young female contenders heading to the upcoming Young Landscaper of the Year competition, as well as Queens Workwear’s efforts to build networks that encourage gender diversity in trades. We also highlight a true trailblazer – Megan Wilson – who founded Earth Canvas 30 years ago, and her journey.
