A little message to our US authors and team members from all of us at Torn Curtain Publishing.
âThe Lord has done great things for us and we are filled with joy.â Psalm 126:3
Weâre passionate about setting new standards of excellence in the Christian Publishing Industry. Often itâs the little details that set a book apart - the thoughtful layout, the tiny adjustments that perhaps only a trained eye would notice. If youâre a Christian publisher keen to learn the art and skill of beautiful industry-standard typesetting, send us a DM. Weâll be opening up some training sessions in the year ahead and would love to hear from you!

BETTER WRITING | Nonfiction
Story vs Teaching
Weâre privileged to work with authors who have a wealth of experienceâand knowledge. One thing that helps nonfiction writers, is deciding whether their experiences (or story) will be the focus of their book, or the truths, advice or lessons they wish to impart. In other words, one needs to fortify the other. Choosing which you lead with will keep you (and your readers) from getting stuck.
If youâre struggling to decide which approach is best for your book, try asking these two questions:
1. Do you see yourself primarily as a storyteller, or a teacher?
2. Picture your ideal reader. Would they benefit more from reading real-life experience, or from clear, concise teaching?
As always, feel free to reach out for help before you start writing, or schedule a manuscript assessment so we can suggest the best way to bring structure to your book.
COLOUR by Taylor Basas
What a delight it has been to partner with TCP author Taylor Basas to bring this stunning selection of poems into the world. One of the great joys of this project has been incorporating the thoughtful illustrations from @Arameanartist.
âYou rarely read such poignant descriptions that capture the depth of human emotion and arouse the reader to action. . . For anyone who has had their hopes dashed and feels great personal pain, this book takes you into the presence of the One who can heal your heart.â â Jennifer Flynn, Divergent Church, Australia
