Our dive at the Blue Hole was in June (hurricane season). Which was fine by us as it meant less tourists on the island. But do allow for your dive trip to be postponed numerous times due to rough conditions. Give yourself a 5 day window for any disruptions. And don’t forget to your sea sickness medication if you feel that the 2 hour boat trip in choppy seas will make you feel queasy. ⚓️💙

Shared from another group: This is the last photo of Nicholas Mevoli. He attempted to dive 236ft /71.93mtrs deep and succeeded. He surfaced and gave the "O.K." sign, attempted to speak and passed out. He never recovered and died from pulmonary edema.

A sneak peak at Southern Arch.
As with the exposed Wild Beast Point or Northern Arch (which sits at the opposite end of the islands) a dive at Southern Arch needs near perfect diving conditions with minimal to zero current surge through the archway. Waters are also very deep so anchoring can prove somewhat difficult. For this reason a drift dive is recommended.
