My writing contract series will engage your writers in some serious mahi in their writing over the span of a week (or longer if you see the need).

Each contract can be used for independent writing mahi, or can be used to back up your teaching and learning program. There's a must do task (one fiction, one non fiction included below), a pick two section, a choose one and a big boss challenge task. Lots for learners to be engaged in over a week during writing time.

Support learners to grow their maths vocabularies with my Maths vocab madlibs resource.

These align with the changes to the NZC maths and the vocabulary for years 4 (pirate sample), 5 (dragon sample) and 6 (aircraft sample).

The full resource covers all the vocabulary for phase 2 of the curriculum. Each worksheet has 3/4/5 words from the maths vocab list, with meanings and then a madlib that uses those words in them.

Engaging picture included, and space for learners to express their creativity too.

The slideshow deck contains ten weeks worth of poems, with associated activities over five days.

I have targeted it towards later stage one and stage 2/3 learners, with the language and follow up activities used.

Island of me - a five worksheet series with connections to design, social studies, STEAM and science.

Your learners have been dropped at their own tropical island, and it's up to them to determine:
👉Where they live.
👉The flag.
👉The flora and fauna.
👉Where landmarks will be.
👉The rights and responsibilities of the people who are there.
👉How other visitors will be encouraged to come visit.

A great 'first few weeks at school' activity, or something that could supplement learning about rights and responsibilities.

Creatures of power, an interesting and engaging way of teaching and building traits/characteristics in your learning space.

Each of the eight posters connect with a trait and a native NZ creature that demonstrates that trait. Learners can be inspired by this and work on their own development in these eight areas.

Great to refer back to in your learning space when a certain trait is needed.

The Alpha-book game, some matching fun for your learners who love books and a bit of detective work.

Eight book titles per worksheet, learners figure out the titles of each book, then match the letter from that title to the book. Perfect for in class literacy time, or your school library visit.

Grab any school journal, a game board, a dice and some counters to play 'Journal race through space'.

That's right, any journal with an article, a story, a poem and a play is all that's needed to play, as learners navigate their way along the gameboard to get to the alien planet.

Classroom guardians - one way to engage your learners in discussing and action around how we look after each other and our spaces.

There are six guardians in total - as seen on image four. Each guardian has a particular focus and way to keep them happy. These are generic ways of showing respect and responsibility in our learning spaces.
