Introducing one of our contributors, Samantha Montgomerie, who shares a little bit of the story behind her poem, 'Time Waltzing'.
Over the next week or so, we'll be celebrating Pav Deconstructed's contributors, as well as opening our PledgeMe campaign and announcing the launch date and locations. To begin with, we thank and honour this group of contributors for being part of our journey ... (more to follow another day)
'Pav Deconstructed' has over 170 individual pieces of art and text, including cartoons, photos, paintings and prints, poems, true stories, not-so-true stories, plays, charts, quotes and newspaper clippings. Even a song for the ukulele! While the bulk of the content is from people who responded to our call for submissions, we also sought permission to include some previously published works. Here is a sample of the people and organisations who allowed us to use their work.
More Ngā Ripo Wai | Swirling Waters news: on Tuesday, Kathy was interviewed on Māori Television. Such an honour to have the book featured on TV.
Early last Sunday morning (7 November), Pavlova Press launched our new book, Ngā Ripo Wai | Swirling Waters, at Kerikeri’s Old Packhouse Market. Despite the odd challenge posed by COVID-19, it was an amazing launch. We’ve had wonderful feedback from attendees - several of whom said it was the best book launch they’ve been to. The Old Packhouse Market was the perfect venue, being connected strongly to Kerikeri’s agricultural roots, and featuring within Ngā Ripo Wai’s pages. The petit-breakfast supplied by the café was delicious.
We missed all of those who were unable to make it and attach a short clip from the proceedings recording the blessing of the book.
