We're proud to announce that Scallywag Social is on the panel to provide services for All-of-Government (AoG) Creative and Media Services!
We love what we do, and with a strong background in Government, it's an honour to have made the panel so we can partner with more government agencies and be involved in meaningful mahi that helps shape Aotearoa.
Ngā mihi nui Te Puni Kōkiri and Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment for this amazing opportunity.

Flexing that brand personality like it's a superpower 😏💥 Whether it's sass, class, or a whole lotta... bad jokes, owning your vibe is key!

Same Scallywag - different hat 🙃 (also same red dress, different awards evening) ✨ As well as running my own business, I'm a Connector for Rural Women New Zealand, working with the seven regions and national office to promote events, build up regional media presence and grow membership.
Last week I was an all-rounder helping out where needed and taking photos at the AGM, National Conference and the NZI Rural Women Business Awards last week in Otautahi.
Big ups to the event organisers for putting on a fantastic 3-day conference. To all the award winners (Honest Wolf, Botanic Press, Real Country, Nature and Nosh Tours, Target PR, Hayz At The Anchorage, Kathryn Wright Counsellor - ka pai tō mahi 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 all your stories were so inspiring!

I was honoured to join Te Rōpū Pakihi in accompanying Kapiti Island Nature Tours to the NZ Tourism Awards at the new conference centre Takina last week! It was a fabulous evening ✨️ Congratulations to all the nominees and winners 👏👏👏

While social media may be pay to play, the authenticity of organic content shines through when you know your audience and how to engage with them ✨️
A huge shout-out to Kylie Bensemann at Scallywag Social who manages Te Rōpū Pakihi's page.
Over the last week our posts have reached 12,266 people with 3,405 engagements. 88% of the week's audience was female aged between 25-64yo and living within the Te Taihauauru rohe.
After Te Taihauauru, Auckland is our biggest audience with good numbers in Australia. Then we have people scattered around the world in the US, Canada, Europe, South East Asia and in Africa.
Check out our website www.trp.maori.nz to see some of the other benefits of joining Te Rōpū Pakihi, the Kāpiti Horowhenua Māori Business Network including mentoring, regular gatherings, engagement with agencies and networking with other Māori businesses in the rohe.

Love seeing this kind of growth for my clients 👊🏼
Big mihi to everyone who engaged with our content over the past month, and nau mai haere mai to our new followers!
We wanted to share our most recent insights to show the power of social media and how important it can be to have a consistent content plan that is aligned with your brand, your kaupapa and your over arching business goals.
Thank you to Scallywag Social for your amazing mahi promoting Te Rōpū Pakihi through Facebook and our other social platforms.

Love your mahi Whare Kōtare ✨️It was my absolute pleasure interviewing you!
Been hanging with my awesome Mama today Pauline Moffat.
We had the lovely Kylie from Scallywag Social come in to do an interview with us for Te Rōpū Pakihi. Fun!!!
Was super cool to talk all things Hauora, empowerment, breath, hypno, wairua, how I got started on my Hauora journey and coaching others and how to bring me alongside for your own well-being and empowerment journey.
I guess I’ve always wanted to work with humans, to empower them to stand in their power and use their voice. It just took til now to have done enough of my own healing and learning to be able to hold space for others in this way.
So, if you’d love someone to hold space for you while you focus on yourself (not everyone else that you’re normally giving all your energy to), or if you know any workplaces who’d love a hand focusing on well-being and team culture, get in touch! We’d love to hear from you ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥

Awesome day out with Javarn from Te Rōpū Pakihi filming the first of many Māori businesses across Kāpiti & Horowhenua to showcase their mahi and kaupapa on social media ❤️ 🎥
One of the best parts of my job is going behind the scenes. From craft breweries and food production to weaving classes and sound studios, there's so much to learn along the way and it's always fun!

I'm always so busy creating content for my clients that I never post to my own page! But here's a few shots I snapped while on the road recently visiting some of my clients. My work takes me to some cool places and I'm super excited to have some kick ass content to work with and showcase the brands I work with 🙌
Super excited to receive my kete from today! I know my tipuna will be proud too 🙏🏼
I've started my journey to learn He Papa Tikanga so I can connect with my culture, pass down this knowledge to my tamariki, and better serve the Māori businesses and communities I work with 🙌🏼
Mauriora!

We've really enjoyed our journey with Furmail 🐱🐶
Originally brought in to work on advertising we went on to help them through a rebrand with a Social Media Strategy.

Pre-Scallywag (I've always been a Scallywag, I just mean before I started this business ;) ) I worked for Horowhenua District Council and launched two successful social media video campaigns and managed the projects from conception to production and delivery.
1️⃣ Our People - showcasing the work Council staff did behind the scenes.
2️⃣ Horowhenua Proud - showcasing the the heart and soul of the Horowhenua District.
I love telling a good story and I love a campaign. They make exciting and engaging content for your audience and it's a great way to build credibility :)

🤲 Each year I volunteer my skills to a number of local projects. It's so important to give back, to contribute to society, share good fortune with community, and stay grounded and connected to what's truly important.
Most recently I supported Levin - Waitārere Surf Life Saving Club to
📱 organise their social media
📷 snap some sweet pics and video footage for a new website we'll work on this year
🌊 deliver the Vote the Boat campaign which saw the club win 26k worth of much needed gear
🎥 host a live feed for Junior Surf prizegiving as we were under Alert Level 2 we couldn't host it the traditional way
🏊 I also get in the water and help with Junior Surf every Saturday during summer!
We can all build a better future, but only if we work together 🤝

I'm so proud to be featured in the Womanhood Journal alongside other mana wahine across Kāpiti and Horowhenua to celebrate International Women's Day. Theme for 2021 - Choose to Challenge 🙌
"2021 is a year of challenge and change for me. My professional challenge is to grow my business, build my brand, be more productive and have absolute clarity in my intentions and goals. My personal challenge is to be more active to create positive sustainable energy, to be courageous and make healthy choices, and learn Mātauranga Māori to gain a deeper insight into the Māori worldview."
Apple is rolling out iOS14 ❗ Part of the changes include that users can opt out of being tracked, this is due to their new privacy policy.
What this means for your digital marketing:
You won't be able to use conversion events from your pixel for iOS14 users that opt out, so you'll see a decline in results for these campaigns. There'll also be a delay in getting results through from now on and you'll also notice changes to attribution settings.
Facebook is also now placing limits on the data you can gather, so you'll only have 8 conversion events from a single domain to choose from - Facebook will use data from your Ad Account to select default conversion events. Audience sizes will decrease and some results will be less accurate because of the iOS changes.
This update has caused some problems on the Facebook Ads platform over the past week, IMO this likely won't settle down until Facebook and Google learn how to work around Apple's new operating system.
🤯 So many sudden changes! But that's the lay of the land and why it's so important to have a kick-ass digital marketer on your side, someone who knows the environment and can navigate their way through it all so that you STILL GET RESULTS.
While as a business owner and digital marketer this change brings uncertainty to the future of targeting users and gathering data, it's great to see major tech companies implementing new policy that keeps our data safe and redesigning technology to be used in a more humane way 🙌

About Us
“We craft stories and content that create a positive profile of your business; if your community is positively engaged, they are more likely to share your content through their own networks, which in turn increases trust, customer loyalty, growth and brand awareness.”
How lucky are we to live in an age where we have the resources to create such powerful visual content and make an unprecedented amount of impressions through social media, impressions that can and do change perspectives. Social media is a powerful tool and that’s why Scallywag Social believes in ethical marketing, ethical practice and ethical content. To do this we incorporate the values and principles of the Center of Humane Technology that apply to the social media environment:
Obsess over Value - Instead of obsessing over engagement metrics
Enable Wise Choices - Instead of assuming more choice is always better
Nurture Mindfulness - Instead of vying for attention
Bind Growth with Responsibility - Instead of simply maximizing growth
We have a responsibility to positively shape the social media landscape, by feeding gradual change, being mindful, and using it in a humane way, a way that makes the world a better place for all of humanity through:
