Я веду инстаграм про Биполярное расстройство. Как быль мамой двоих маленьких детей и с такими перепадами настроения: то агрессия, то смех, то лежу как труп неделями, а дела стоят в доме, детей надо возить на занятия и в школу. А ты просто мертвый кусок в живом теле…

Там не будет такой успешной жизни, как обычно вы видите вокруг, счастливые успешные мамы и ты себя винишь, что ты ленивый человек, а на самом деле ты просто болеешь.

Hey guys - we just wanted to share the love. This book is so cool, the pages smell amazing and Lox loves it!
We were given this book by a lovely Play Specialist at Starship ED during our last admission. It was so unexpected because Lox would usually get a toy or felt tips with paper to amuse our time but when he was given the book, his eyes lit up immediately!

We’ve had our fair share of trips to ED and our admissions are abundant - he shouldn’t know their process but he does and I’m sure his friends do too.
This book broke the mould and for that I am thankful.

It’s the little things.

How do you tell your child what a Billy goat smells like?

Billy Goat scent in the book 😀 It is a 'complex' scent which does remind you of a goat if you ever smelled it, but it is not too yukky 😅 The author had to mix 7 different aromas to come up with a right one. Some children never experienced this before, so they find this page funny 😄

We all know that reading to children is good for their learning and development, but why are picture books so important?

Picture books are usually the first books read to children, mostly because of the pictures! But also because the stories are short and easy to follow. By reading picture books to a child the adult is also showing them that reading is important.

Being read to by an adult creates a lovely connection between the reader and the child, often it can be a way to “break the ice” if they are meeting a new grownup.

The images in the book as well as the words start conversations and can encourage other activities such as counting, or colours. As you chat about the story during or after you can really engage the child in what was happening and improve their communication skills.
By sitting and listening to a story without talking (unless asked) they develop critical listening skills.

Often picture books contain made up or silly words as well as longer words that a child might not be able to read his/herself. The playing around with language helps children learn and build up their vocabulary.

What's your families favourite book??

This is our new favourite .nz. The stinking Billy goat. Honestly this is a great bedtime story for the whole family!

Since 2021 seems to be the year for reading.... This great book needs to be 1 of them.

All our girls love .nz . From the bright bold colours, amazing illustrations and the yummy smells which make it very interactive and fun.

Especially for our toddler Mila who's learning all about her 5 senses and how they work. I love how it encourages Mila to not just look but smell As well.

For me particular scents remind me of particular times. So reading this book it really does feel like more than just a book. It feels like you are apart of the story. Each of the 12 pages has a different scent to explore and be a part of.

It is 1 of those books the kids want to read again and again! Everytime we do they notice something different.
