END OF AN EPOCH

The Driving Force, a magazine I started at Fonterra Transport, for the lower North Island depots comes to its conclusion with both disappointment and some regret.

I will never regret the many hours, or should that be many many hours, spent producing The Driving Force, the experience has been enlightening to say the least and I have been happy with the positive feedback.

But the end is the end and the last issue will be removed from my website shortly so if you haven’t read it yet visit www.hovdingpublishing.co.nz soon.

On the 17th of December I posted Lisa's manuscript off to Random House New Zealand, to my surprise I received a letter in return by the 27th of December. her story complete with cover concept and illustrations has been passed onto the consideration panel. first hurdle cleared.

I feel like I have just completed the longest journey of my life. This afternoon I finally finished the preparation of Lisa's book, "EMMA" for posting off to my first choice publisher Penguin Random House.

Wish us luck because it is hard to get accepted.

Hi all,

Is Spring upon us?

Do I sense a feeling of spring in the air, I certainly hope so, what a wet winter we have had and it is looking like spring may be more of the same. Fingers crossed eh!

I haven’t been able to walk on my back lawn for weeks now and it’s looking more like a paddock than a manicured green space of peace and tranquillity.

The 2017/2018 milking season has started and work is picking up. I have decided to run a quarterly, human interest, magazine at work for a trial period this season.

I have called it The Driving Force and hope to encourage my work colleagues to submit stories which might be of interest to others.

We have received seven full colour illustrations for Lisa Laney's second book "Emma". they are looking fantastic can't wait to see the rest and start putting them into the manuscript.

I have had a very successful meeting this afternoon and have taken a huge leap forward in my effort to get Lisa's next book/books published. I saw some fabulous pencil drawings which I am sure Lisa would be very pleased with and now await the completed full colour images.
