Success can only ever be the retrospect of 'trying' 🫱🏽🫲🏽.

The exhilaration and trepidation of being on the cusp of achievement are palpable. You labor at something for so long that you start to believe just a little more effort, that last 5%, will bring you everything you've dreamed of. Yet, no matter how much you fill the cup, there always seems to be vacant space.

Pulling away from something that feels tantalizingly close to perfection can be agonizing. However, truly understanding that this facade might forever deceive you is perhaps the most valuable realization you'll ever have. Just because something isn't finished doesn't mean it isn't wonderful as it is, and conversely, completion doesn't guarantee excellence.

Embracing the challenge of trying new approaches, even if it means setting other things aside, has been a worthwhile learning experience. Although I've spent years doing what I love, I don't for a moment believe I've found the perfect formula or that I've "cracked it." Trust me, I'm far from it. But what I've come to understand is that any readiness to let go of preconceived notions and try again has moved me, even if just slightly, closer to what I might call success.

I've been stoked to work alongside the boys at making content for their business in an effort to navigate together this everchanging social landscape. Create branding and give insight into what goes on in an arborist world. We're testing what's right and adjusting as we go! Cheers for having me onboard the geckos 🦎

The last one does something to me... 😂

To transcend is to go beyond the limits of the conceptual sphere. To break the mold on what was thought to be possible. When you find someone you love, I believe it can feel like this.

The expectations, whether determined by conventual ideas or own experience, become weightless. You meet an individual that seemed to sneak past the constraints and boundaries as if they never existed.

You are left feeling elevated and yet vulnerable. The duality of feeling the need to protect your heart and let down your guard. To desperately hold on to what you know and then completely let go everything completely.

In this dance of love, two souls entwine, pushing and pulling between realms of vulnerability and strength. This is not just about connecting with another but also discovering previously uncharted territories of one's own soul.

When love transcends, it becomes a mirror, reflecting back parts of ourselves we might have never known. It reminds us that boundaries are but constructs, and in the vast expanse of the human heart, there's always room to expand, evolve, and soar.

For, to transcend in love is to recognize and celebrate the infinite potential that lies in every shared glance, touch, and whispered word. It's a journey not just beyond the limits of the conventional world but also beyond the confines of our own self-imposed limitations.

It is, in essence, the purest form of human connection, allowing us to be our most authentic selves, reminding us of the magic that exists when two souls dare to dream beyond the conceivable.

Thinking can be a powerful force.It leads to the birth of new ideas.

Yet, like a spark in the dark, it often lacks the energy to ignite something meaningful.

Those ideas can wither away, never getting the chance to catch fire. That's why preparation is essential.

A good idea is more than mere entertainment; it's a commitment to follow through.

I felt immense pride attending .rise exhibition for Fotofest 2023.

His collection, displayed in the alleyway at 211 Heretaunga St E, Hastings, tells several captivating stories through striking visual stories.

I wholeheartedly recommend you visit his exhibition, along with the multitude of other artists contributing to this festival.

Darth, I couldn't be happier for you.

You took an idea and did what's necessary, something that eludes many of us.

You followed through.

Photographing people is a profound and endlessly captivating pursuit.

It's a remarkable and intriguing phenomenon how, when individuals stand before the camera's lens, they unveil dimensions of themselves rarely seen in everyday life.

While intoxicants can influence these moments, they are not the sole driving force.

Our task extends beyond mere portraiture; it's about encapsulating the essence of a moment.

It's about orchestrating light to echo emotions, composing scenes to reflect the essence, and painting with colors to enrich the narrative.

All of this unfolds in the blink of an eye.

In my journey as a photographer, one truth has remained unwavering: 'Shoot a million, treasure one.'

Not every photograph is a masterpiece because not every moment is a masterpiece.

The true thrill lies in the build-up, in honing your intuition to anticipate the unforeseen.

Photography is a pursuit of magic, revealing the extraordinary within the ordinary.

It's a reminder that in every instant, there's potential for beauty, for art, for revelation.

Isn't it intriguing how meticulously we plan, striving to fortify ourselves against the enigma that is reality?

The allure of control, deceiving us into believing we can command what, in truth, eludes our grasp.

Despite earnest attempts to cultivate fresh, healthy routines and cast away the shadows of our past beliefs, we sometimes falter, thinking, 'I've treaded this ground before, and nothing seems to change.'

Yet, the growth we seek doesn't adhere to a straight line.

In fact, it may not follow any discernible course, map, or predetermined direction.

All we can hold onto is the hope that, with each new day, we inch closer to our desired destination, even if that path remains uncertain.

This terrifies me... From a young age, we are often asked what we want to be when we grow up. We dream without limits, not yet jaded by the harsh realities of life. Although it’s admirable to live humbly in a world full of normalized routines, nothing I’ve done recently has felt 'normal.' We strive to connect with loved ones and be part of something greater. Yet, there's a part of me that seeks to go beyond the familiar boundaries. Admitting it's difficult is an understatement. Discovering who you are can be both time-consuming and financially demanding. Despite our uniqueness, some challenges are universal. I still need to earn a living, and every time I’ve considered giving up my camera or editing software, my body vehemently rejects the idea. This passion frightens me; I’m scared of losing a dream I've fought hard to prove to myself and others can be a reality. The Walls of Our Old Studio

In early 2021, we officially opened up the doors to our new studio. What all started as a nang in my parents spa with my best friend, tuned into perhaps the most transformative experience in my early 20's. 'Dojo' translates to 'a place of the way'. The word created a sense of purpose and challenge within us. What it meant to me was a place of constant moving or change. A place of learning and discovery. Our first 'Dojo' was in the back of a friend-of-a-friends backyard. A shabby and dusty shed. But we didn't care. It facilitated a space for us to change our habits and routines into ones could lead us to being fulltime creatives. We opened up our own place when we moved into our own home. Funnily the studio became in our own backyard now. But it was ours. Our space, our floors and walls. For 3 years I spent countless hours slaving away for a dream. Actually, several dreams. It not only became a local hangout, but a place to consult and console. Ideas were made and executed in 'The Dojo' and I am forever grateful for the hundreds of friends made while we had it. The Dojo was never just a building, it was an entity that we understood and respected. Over the years, we encouraged people to grab a pen and write whatever came to their head on our walls, to chose a spot that felt right and just write! And by the studios retirement, what was originally white walls became spread with brain regurgitation like I had never seen. Enjoy pausing and seeing memories fly by.
