Today Rose gave me the best early Christmas gift ever (without her even knowing it)! 🎄🎁 (video in the comments section, so be sure to see that too 😊)

After my 8yr old violin student Lyla left her lesson today, Rose announced, “I would like a violin lesson next”. Now, Rose has been “dabbling” on the violin for a while now, nothing ultra serious and absolutely no pressure from me because she really hasn’t been ready in my expert opinion.
Her bow hold has gotten so amazing though because SHE has wanted to work on it sporadically but today was Rose and Mommy doing a PROPER violin lesson like she witnesses me have with other students! I drew her a foot chart like all students get and the lesson lasted 33mins, with two hydration breaks as Rose calls them (“hydration gives me energy”)!
She is truly 100% ready to do this with me now and after being in violin lessons since she was 2 weeks old, it’s about time 😉😂🤣 just joking lol but what a happy feeling I have! 😍🎻

MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄🎁💐

This past weekend he has been recording yet another audition video and has delivered, yet again! I love you Luke & his Violin! 🩷

THIS is why I teach! (well, one of the many reasons 😊) because eventually we’ll get to this point together!
Despite what one might assume, it doesn’t take that long to get to this stage (with me as the teacher 😉).

Luke is 11yrs old in this video and started with me when he was 4!

As 2023 is about to come to a close (it’s New Year’s Eve here) I want to pay tribute to the wonderful students and parents I had to leave behind in Clarksville, TN when I moved 1/2 way across the world just a few months ago to Napier, New Zealand!

I miss each and every one of you (and Rose does too) SO much and there has definitely been a huge void of not seeing you/working with you weekly 😢 These students touched and enriched my life more than they will ever know and their parents became close/dear friends. Gosh I was so lucky to have you all in my life and to be your violin teacher. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your musical journey. I love you all! 🎵❤️ Keep up the beautiful playing and dedicated hard work.

I will be setting up a teaching studio here in 2024 and I’m ready for the challenge!
