Eloise the Southland Museum Director gave Justine and Carla a guided tour of the new tuatara home this morning, and we can't wait to see the final upgrades.

Did you know that Henry is over 120 years old 🤯 In his new home, he’ll really be living the life! 😎

We are really pumped to discover this liitle secret. Well, they have been around for 30 years but we are just so thrilled to have made their acquaintance 🙌

Did you know we have a film society here? 🎥 And it’s a cool arthouse experience (with wine) 🍷 You probably won't find popcorn 🍿❌, but you will find arthouse flicks, alternative movies, documentaries, and awesome yarns – yup the Invercargill Film Society is redefining cinema. It’s a pretty awesome way to spend an evening 👏

We’re loving the beautiful curve and flow of this architectural wonder 🫶

The redevelopment of the Murihiku Marae, designed by BOON and constructed by Henderson Construction, is a symbol of sustainability and cultural pride. Inspired by the tohorā (whale), the design connects past wisdom and future vision. If you look closely, you can see the curvature of the roof extends into graceful timber beams that symbolise ribs, connecting indoor and outdoor spaces. Beyond a structure, it pioneers sustainability with a triple net zero approach, focusing on energy, carbon, and water footprints. 🌍💡💚
