A huge Congratulations to all of our Rangatahi bands Who entered the Smoke free Rockquest 2024 and performed on Saturday at the heats for Hawkes Bay 🙏 We were privileged to have entered 5 Bands this year.

Results on the Next Stages are Released on Monday the 20th of May. 🤞

Whatever happens from here on in, you should all be very proud of yourselves because we are here at We came to play Music Centre 🙏 Roll on Monday!

We have our national winning Ākonga Puoro roopu Te whānau puoro performing at the Xmas in the park today in Pāharakeke! Catch them doing a 45 min set from 5:15pm! ⭐️

Ngā Kaiako puoro Talitha and Tūkotahi will also be performing a little earlier at 4:45pm Fuuuuuu a double banger whānau!

The heat today was out the gate, But Our band got amongst it & hit some rehearsals whilst our two DJs got to throw down a live set infront of a crowd at Toitoi this evening. We then Finished up our day with a big group Hakari for our Tamariki. Thank you to Vanessa and the staff at Bareknuckle BBQ for looking after us tonight 🙏🏽

Elizabeth te Kiri is a year 9 student from Flaxmere College.

Elizabeth comes in everyday in her own time to learn and play the Bass Guitar. She has quite the voice too!! One of her many goals is to be able to sing and play the bass guitar at the same time! 💯

Just to wrap up the schools tour that took place last week. Our Stars Te Whānau Puoro from Flaxmere college and Tamatea high school and The lil saints from Tamatea high school had set out on a tour at kura around the Flaxmere community showcasing their talents and inspiring our people through music. They performed at Flaxmere Primary, Te whai Hiringa, Iron gate primary, Omahu and Te Kura O kimiora. We would like to thank all kura for allowing our bands to come and perform for you all 🙏 Our Ākonga had a blast and loved the vibe from each kura!
