Live-To-Air | The Situations
The Situations joined us at SALTBOX Studios for a live performance.
The Situations, having originally hailed from Papakura South Auckland, survived countless shows around New Zealand, Australia, and Europe throughout the last two decades. During their adventures, they released three albums - Situations Get the Basics (2007), Forever Scene Changes (2015) and The Day After the Night Before (2018). The band has also released a number of 7” singles and EPs on European labels Munster and Beyond Your Mind.
Proving to be a sought-after backing band, the boys have played with some big names through the years, including Ray Woolf, the incredible Wanda Jackson and the late, great Ray Columbus. The lads also make up the backbone of legendary NZ band Shaft, fronted by Bob Cardy, formerly of the Axemen.
Sometime in the early 2010s they scattered to the far reaches of Aotearoa and the world. Various personal experiences and happenings in the Middle East, Asia, Africa, "the system", and Hastings have drawn them back together. Reformed and reanimated as a power trio with the input of a spirit animal, The Situations have reconnected with longtime collaborator Bob Frisbee to record their fourth album “Winning Home and Away”.
