Congratulations to New Zealanders Frankie Adams, Rena Owen and John Tui who have been cast in Disney’s Live-Action ‘Moana.’ Frankie as Moana’s mother, Rena as the revered Gramma Tala; and John Tui as Moana’s no-nonsense father 🌺
The new film is directed by Thomas Kail, (“Hamilton” on Broadway and Disney+). Producers are Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia and Beau Flynn. Lin-Manuel Miranda, who wrote the original songs, will also serve as producer.
We look forward to seeing Frankie, Rena and John on the big screen representing Aotearoa.
