Running an online business can be overwhelming - especially if you're doing it alone - juggling ALL the business things plus balancing the rest of life means is a lot. Often it means the content marketing side of things can get left in the dust...

But content marketing doesn’t have to be a chore. In fact, it can be a powerful tool for your business.

Start by figuring out how they find out about you and the various stages on their journey to purchasing and tailor your content to each of those stages.

Content Strategy > Shiny Objects

Following these hacks may gain you followers and vanity metrics but if you are selling services such as courses or 1:1 sessions, these metrics may not lead to more sales…

A solid, consistent, valuable content strategy on the other hand will. Depending on your business model, nurturing your existing audience is probably more crucial than trying to gain a ton of new followers, views, likes and comments.

These things can be great for building momentum and potentially reaching new people who may turn into students and clients.

But, by sharing authentic content, delivering your message and teachings and connecting with your social media community in a meaningful way will ultimately lead to people wanting to invest in you 💛

Our time here on earth is our MOST valuable resource ⏰

It’s actually kind of crazy that we trade our time for money when you think about it, because it is actually priceless!

When you are deciding how to spend your precious time, whether that is what you are working on, who you spend time with, how much you charge or what jobs your do yourself or outsource, are you valuing your time correctly?

Most of us tend to cheapen the value of our time - examples of this include booking cheaper flights with ridiculous layovers, wearing a million hats in our business instead of delegating or hiring a team, not charging enough for our time in a professional setting spending time with people who aren’t nourishing, the list goes on.

So, I encourage you to take a moment to consider your time, how you value it and any changes you could make to ensure your time is as valued as it should be 🩷

Let's do an Instagram profile audit together! 🩷

When we set up our Instagram profile and start going about our business and content creation, we can leave it totally untouched for way too long, and it can feel like a bit of a chore (I mean using the word audit isn't exactly inspiring, I know!).

But there are just a few things you can check up on and refresh to make sure your profile is optimised and generally a nice place for people to land and discover more about you and what you do:

🌸 What is the name on your profile? Does it include your name along with searchable keywords relevant to what you do and your niche?
🌸 Is your bio simple and easy to read and infused with your personality and vibe?
🌸 Are you speaking to your ideal client in the first sentence?
🌸 Do you have an email list-building CTA in your bio?
🌸 How is your shop front looking? Can profile visitors see what you are about when they land on your profile? Utilise pinned posts and story highlights for this!
🌸 How are your story highlights looking? How are they organised, are the covers on brand, are they up to date & still useful/interesting?

Might seem weird, since this is my zone of genius as a content manager & SSM - but I put all of my energy into doing just that for my own clients, leaving little in my creative tank for my own business.

This feels like a confession 🫢

Reposting well-performing content is a great way to save time, reach new people and to reinforce your message (we all need a bit of repetition to learn anyway).

Not sure what to repost? Try this easy hack to find your best-performing posts based on shares:

Navigate to your insights on your profile:

1. Click “Content you Shared”
2. Toggle to “Last year”
3. Toggle the metric option to “Shares”
4. Take one of the top three posts you see and repost it!

You can repost word for word with the same video/graphics or you can update it if necessary or even transform it into a different type of post (honestly you can do this in addition to a straight repost to create even more content!)

This works well because you know this content has performed well and resonates with your audience. It’s not necessary to come up with brand-new content for every post!
