... And this is predicted to reach over 500 million by the end of 2024 😮

The popularity of podcasting isn't going anywhere anytime soon!

I may be bias because I personally love podcasts SO much and have learnt so many amazing things from them ~ almost anyone I meet who has something interesting to share with the world gets hit with a "You NEED to start a podcast!" from me 😅

👉🏼 Do you have a podcast?
👉🏼 Have you been planning to start a podcast but haven't quite managed to get if off the ground?

✨ 11 things about me ✨

1. I grew up in Auckland, New Zealand & lived there most of my life
2. I have been vegan since 2015 & I love cooking
3. Yoga takes up a HUGE part of my life. I take my yoga mat everywhere!
4. I have an older brother and 5 step-siblings
5. I am obsessed with travelling (40-something countries deep) but always in conflict between having a home & being a nomad. My sense of direction is appalling so I would be literally lost without Google Maps.
6. Chocolate and hazelnut is the best flavour combination EVER (Italy I’m coming for you!)
7. I only speak English and I honestly find that embarrassing but my brain struggles a lot with languages!
8. I love hot tropical climates, the more humid the better. Beach > Mountains (the best beaches I’ve ever been to were in Greece & Albania FYI)
9. I struggle to be on time yet I am very organised
10. One of my biggest dreams in the next year or two is to get a dog. I want a pomeranian!!
11. I have three vices: Coffee, dark chocolate and wine (so original, I know)

What's something interesting about you? 🩷

✨ Having a social media presence builds trust ✨

This is important because people tend to take time before making a decision to invest in someone’s services, especially when it comes to something as significant and personal as spiritual teachings, healing or mentoring.

And many people need to hear the same thing again & again (and resonate with it too!) before taking action...

Yes, there may be some people who hear about you via word of mouth or stumble across your page and immediately invest in you.

However, for most, they will need time to get to know what you’re all about and build trust with what you say and what you do before they can trust you enough to sign-up for your offerings.

When you post regularly, consistently, with integrity and share generously on social media, people who are interested in you and follow you will be given the chance to learn to trust you.

Eventually, these followers will turn into your most loyal students and clients 🩷

Do you use your human design for your work and business?

As a projector, I have found understanding my human design insanely helpful for how I work and interact with the world and wow I am just so much more nourished than I was before!!

To be honest, I'm not sure I could go back to a normal 9-5 job as a projector and successfully live according to my design - maybe all of us projectors are supposed to be working for ourselves!

If you don't know your human design, I highly highly recommend investigating it - you can get a free chart online. If you want to dive deeper with a personal reading (best investment ever) send me a message and I'll recommend an amazing analyst for you!

What platforms do you use to share your content? 👇🏼

There is so much more to content creation than Instagram, you have:
✨ TikTok
✨ Facebook
✨ LinkedIn
✨ Pinterest
✨ YouTube
✨ Podcasts
✨ Emails
✨ Blogging
✨ What have I missed...?

Instagram IS incredible but you can reach so many more people in different ways!

What's even better is when you use your website and email list to reach your audience because these are things you actually OWN.

It may seem daunting to be present in all of these places because it is and it takes dedication and consistency and a whole lot of REPURPOSING.

I always say it's amazing how much content you can create with a 10-minute video!

Have you found the meaning of your life?

There are three places where people most commonly find meaning in their life:

✨ In service to the divine (think spirituality)
✨ In service to achievement (think big goals)
✨ In service of connection (think family, parenting & friendships)

We don't have to achieve lofty dreams to make our life meaningful.

It can be as simple as devoting yourself to your practice or making your loved ones a part of your everyday life.

Finding meaning through achievement is satisfying by it's not everything.

Have you found meaning in your life?

How did you start freelancing??

I get asked this question A LOT!

I feel like my journey to where I am now has unfolded in such an effortless way, it must be meant to be ✨

Basically, I started freelancing because I was travelling in India in 2019 and on the verge of running out of money & I really did not want to go home and get another 'job'. Previously I had been working in the accounting, finance and insurance industries in Auckland and London!

I had heard of this digital nomad thing and thought why not give it a crack!

I had already started a travel blog () and had found that I loved creating content and learnt a few things from that process, but definitely wasn't making any money!!

I was searching, searching, searching and eventually through chance I suppose found my first client (who I already knew) who took a chance on me and taught me many things about how to run and create content for online businesses.

Over the last 4 years I started to carve out a niche & in the realms of yoga and spirituality and started to get more and more incredible, aligned clients - this just made the most sense to me as a spiritual seeker and yoga teacher myself.

I absolutely LOVE the content I get to create every day and I can bring my own perspective, experience and knowledge to the table ✨

If you are a freelancer or have your own business, I would love to know your story of how you started 👇🏼

Have you considered having a YouTube channel? 📹

YouTube is one of THE most popular platforms out there, and compared to other platforms, it manages to keep our attention for longer...

Gen Z (born in the late 90s to early 2010s) spend a lot of time online, and you may have thought that more of them hung out more on TikTok, but actually, more of them are on YouTube (Instagram is 2nd in front of TikTok).*

This is good to know as much of Gen Z is coming of age and they are ready to start investing in themselves, their growth and their evolution.

YouTube is like Google but for videos! It's a great place to share educational content that teaches people something that they will find inspiring, entertaining or informative.

Plus the algorithm on YouTube means that your videos will likely be shown to people who will be interested in your content, making it a great place for people to stumble across you (organically).

Let me know in the comments:
1: What generation you are in
2: If you watch YouTube regularly
3: What type of content you consume on there
and
4: If you consider Gen Z part of your target market 👇🏼

Do you run or work with a soulful business?

A soulful business isn't just about making money, it's about making a difference.

A soulful business is one that is rooted in purpose, driven by passion, and guided by values.

It puts people and the planet before profit and aspires to make a positive impact on the world.

At the heart of a soulful business is the idea that we are deeply interconnected (heard of quantum entanglement) - when we do something (anything), if affects all.

When we build or work with a soulful business, we tap into a deeper sense of purpose and fulfilment that means so much more than just the bottom line - which is also important too, by the way!

We create an aligned life that allows us to make a meaningful contribution to the world ✨

🚨 Blogging is still relevant in 2023 🚨

It may be easy to think that blogging isn’t relevant anymore with the explosion of social media, video content, podcasting and TikTok.

However, for businesses with an online presence, blogging is still as relevant as it ever was. If you run a missioned spiritual business and offer services online, then you could be missing out on reaching many new people by not investing time into a blog.

Blogs are still a place where people turn to find valuable information they can trust about something in particular and to receive answers to their questions.

And I know that you know there are plenty of people out there in the world who are looking for exactly what you offer.

By having a blog, you increase your chances of those people finding you.

Here are some great reasons why you should think about blogging for your business:

🩷 60% of people read a blog at least once a week
🩷 It’s low risk with the potential for high reward
🩷 Improves your discoverability organically
🩷 It can position you as an authority with a blog
🩷 Blogging helps to build your email list
🩷 You own your blog (& your email list)
🩷 You can use a blog as part of a repurposing strategy
🩷 Blog content is evergreen

Let me know in the comments if you have an active blog on your website or not 👇🏼

I met someone the other day and when I told them I was going to Europe for summer for an extended 'workation'...

They said 'That's great your employer lets you do that!'

I replied 'I work for myself so I get to work whenever I like 😄'.

It was a really amazing moment of realisation that I have created so much freedom for myself by choosing to step away from traditional employment and work for myself doing something that REALLY lights me up!

I haven't taken any massive risks or done anything wild to get to where I am today, I've just followed the signs and leaned into the nudges - they always guide me in the highest direction.

I never have any dread, procrastinate or watch the clock like I used to when I was in a 9-5, it's quite the opposite 💗

I hope you wake up every morning excited about your mahi too ✨

Over 4 billion people on this planet use social media! 😮

That means whatever service or spiritual teaching you’re offering (no matter how niche or 'out there'), there will be plenty of people around the world who will be willing to listen.

Social Media is a tool to reach those people without the confinement of distance thanks to the wizardry that is the internet!

You could think about it like when you go about your day in your world, there are only so many places you go in a week physically to meet and interact with people.

This would be a way to organically reach new people offline. Some of these people may or may not be interested in your teachings, courses and sessions.

You are pretty limited on the number of people you can organically reach in this way and your growth may be slow or very limited depending on the population size and general interests of the demographics where you reside.

With social media, you can meet and interact with an almost infinite number of people around the world.

You can in fact search out and find ideal students and clients using these platforms, making it a powerful networking tool!

And it's free (well not entirely free, but we don't HAVE to hand over cash in order to take advantage of SM!).

Pick up your social media game by trying out my free social media content planner (that I use every damn day) - get organised and get your social rolling!

For me, there is nothing better than being able to work from my own space, surrounded by my plants and crystals (let me know if you want to see my desk!) dog napping on the bed behind me, afternoon light streaming in and to top it all off, getting to do what I love and truly lights me up!

This is what freedom looks like to me (and being able to go on a 6 month workaction to Europe- stay tuned for more on that!)

Social media can seem like a time-consuming, difficult and relentless beast to tackle!

Especially if you are a solopreneur with little or no team support (there isn’t enough time in the day!).

However, as a spiritual teacher, coach, yoga teacher or mentor having a social media presence is so important, especially if what you offer is based online.

Swipe through to learn 6 reasons why you need a social media presence as a conscious entrepreneur!

Do you consume more than you create in this app?

Maybe you find yourself scrolling mindlessly through Instagram looking for inspo, only to find yourself either completely distracted & addicted to funny animal videos (ME!) or you end up being paralysed to create after ruthlessly comparing yourself to others on here.

It can definitely feel overwhelming & even pointless to create content for social media...

But perhaps when you do get into a flow & start creating content to share from your heart about yourself or your business, you feel fulfilled and have a sense of accomplishment (ME!).

One of the keys to getting around this content creation debacle is to plan, seriously have a detailed plan and content calendar in place - and schedule it in advance.

When you feel creative and inspired - this is when you can create your content, not on a random Tuesday afternoon when you feel like you 'should' post something!

You can always spontaneously post in the moment when you feel like it - stories are great for this or a gorgeous picture your friend captured of you in a moment.

But for the more in-depth content you want to share about your message, your offerings and what you teach, having a thought-out strategy and plan will make it so much easier for you to be more of a creator than a consumer!

Let me know if this resonates!

And if you want help planning out your content, I made a free Social Media Content Calendar. It has space for you to record content ideas when you get inspired, create a detailed monthly, weekly and daily social media plan and so much more (there are LOTs of tabs).

This is the planner I use for all of my clients & I honestly wouldn't be able to function without it!

For many of us, social media can feel overwhelming and honestly draining...

Using it as a place to share your gifts and talents to help others might even give you the ick!

However, there is so much magic, connection and opportunity for growth residing within these little ether squares for everyone.

What is your current relationship with social media like?

Do you see it as a positive tool for evolution and growth or a new necessary evil for your business?

👋🏼 Hello! I'm Christina, the face behind Sarpa Social 🐍

I am a digital content creator but more importantly, I am a devoted yogi, truth seeker, compassionate plant eater and highly addicted traveller (my next adventure to Europe starts next week!)

I have an insatiable appetite for learning all things spiritual, scientific, and mystical.

I am an accountant, turned yoga teacher, turned freelance digital nomad (& many things in between), and now my next adventure is to expand my freelancing business beyond just me.

I truly value freedom and self-evolution.

With the freelance work that I have been doing since 2019, I have been able to create a life that not only gives me all the freedom I desire (in terms of financial abundance but also in terms of location independence & time management), but I get to work alongside others who are doing soul-led work in the realms of spirituality, yoga and travel.

Being the content machine for my clients means I get to get deep into their content, and their offerings and present it to the world. This is seriously rewarding work!

I honestly pinch myself all the time that this is what I get to do!

However, being a service-based business, there are only so many hours I have in a day to dedicate to my clients and so the universe has presented me with an opportunity - bring on more incredible & aligned team members so that I can work with even more conscious clients and help more business share their message, their gifts and make a difference to more people.

And so Sarpa Social was born.

Sarpa Social exclusively works with clients who run conscious businesses, predominately in the realm of online education, with an aligned vision so we can co-create a better tomorrow, together.
