in the Himalayan Lengteg Editorial Committee
These days the great interest and regard for the Himalayan culture is widely known through observation from inside and outside. The connection has been established through many discussions and enquiries between the two. The philosophical views of both are based on the common language, and if it dege
nerates it is like the root of a tree trunk rotting away. The establishment of the editorial committee wants facilitate and increase the connection between Buddhism and Bön. There are three special reasons for publishing this magazine, besides the obvious ones:
1) To elucidate on the Himalayan history; the common culture of Buddhism and Bön; the important personalities who benefitted the region; modern subjects like health and other vital issues
2) Magazines, which inform about the Himalayas are as rare as stars in the day time. If we cannot discuss about the subjects mentioned above, then we cannot preserve the history for the generations to come. Also the practices of Buddhism and Bön on how to maintain a calm mind cannot be safeguarded. If the language of the Himalayan people disappears, their culture cannot stand on their own feet anymore. Even though we have a proper language and culture at present, we do not enjoy the same rights as others and can therefore not fulfil our wishes and have to endure hardships.
3) These days the schools in Dolpo are sprouting like mushrooms in the summer. Still the students have great difficulties in expressing themselves fluently in their native language and cannot use words in their dialect properly. This becomes obvious during festivities, when they have to speak in public. If we already have these problems at present, then how will it develop in the following ten years? 在近来人们对于喜马拉雅文化产生浓郁和重视喜马拉雅文化的当儿，众所周知喜马拉雅文化的根源始于藏传佛教和苯教。两者之间的连接是基于共同的语言和哲学观点，但基于某些因素两个宗教之间的连接已经开始退化了。一旦退化了就像大树的根部和树干腐烂岌岌可危。
在此Lengteg编辑委员会的成立是希望促进和加强佛教和苯教之间的连接。
在此阐明编辑委员会成立的缘由
1） 为了维护喜马拉雅历史上，佛教和苯教共同的文化，惠及该地区的重要人物，实施状况如医疗和其他重要问题。
2） 阐明喜马拉雅文化 的珍贵和重要性就像出现在白天的星星一样，如果我们再不采取行动加强和保护所提及的要点的话那马拉雅文化以及佛教和苯教将无法得到保障和消失，尽管目前马拉雅山脉人民拥有自己的语言和文化但是马拉雅文化还是处于弱势而且不被重视。
3） 近来在多波（Dolpo）学校就像雨后春笋般发芽。但是学生们并不能流利的掌握使用母语沟通或交流，而且只有在公众场合或庆祝活动使用母语。
如果还不采取行动对治问题，马拉雅文化还有多少个十年？
基于这些原因，我们已经建立了的喜马拉雅Lengteg编辑委员会。但目前我们还没有任何必要的软硬设施和租金，在持我们恳请大家发心来支持这个项目。目前委员会最为需要的是三台电脑，小型复印机，大型复印机和一台扫描器。希望大家可以慷慨解囊一起维护和推广马拉雅文化。
