नेपालमा तहगत बैंकिङ प्रणालीको आवश्यकता/महत्त्व:-

बैंकिङ क्षेत्रको विकास विस्तार पवर्द्धन, स्थायित्व, प्रतिस्पर्धात्मक क्षमतामा अभिवृद्धि, बैंकिङ प्रणालीको सवलीकरणको लागि नेपालमा तहगत बैंकिङ प्रणाली ल्याइएको हो । मुलतः नेपालमा तहगत बैंकिङ प्रणाली ल्याइनुका कारण,यसको आवश्यकता औचित्यता तथा महत्वलाई निम्न बमोजिम बुँदागत रूपमा उल्लेख गर्न सकिन्छ:-

>बैकिङ प्रणालीलाई एउटै ऐनको छत्र छायांमा राख्न सोही बमोजिम नियमन निरीक्षण तथा सुपरिवेक्षण गर्न गराउन,

>नेपाल राष्ट्र बैंकले गर्ने नियमन, निरीक्षण तथा सुपरिवेक्षण गर्न गराउन,

>बैंक तथा वित्तीय संस्थाहरूको प्रतिस्पर्धि क्षमता अभिवृद्धि गर्न,

>वित्तीय सबलीकरण तथा वित्तीय शुद्धीकरणको आधार निर्माण गर्न,

>वित्तीय पहुँच वित्तीय साक्षरता अभिवृद्धि गरी वित्तीय समावेशीकरण वृद्धि गर्न,

>बैंक तथा वित्तीय संस्थाहरूलाई स्वच्छ प्रतिस्पर्धा गराई मुलुकको आर्थिक समृद्धि र विकासमा
सहयोग पुयाउन,

>वित्तीय स्थायित्व कायम गरि वित्तीय सुशासन कायम गर्न,

>बैकिङ प्रणालीको विकास प्रवर्द्धन र सशक्तीकरण गर्न,

> बैंक तथा वित्तीय संस्थाहरूको स्थापना संचालन तथा व्यवस्थापनलाई वैज्ञानिक व्यवस्थित रणनीतिक प्रभावकारी बनाउन,

> बैंक तथा वित्तीय संस्थाहरूमा जोखिम व्यवस्थापन गर्न

>आन्तरिक नियन्त्रण प्रणालीलाई प्रभावकारी बनाउन

>चुक्तापूँजीको वैज्ञानिक जांच गर्न आर्थिक विकासमा सहयोग पुयाउने गरी छुट्याउने आधार तय गर्न,

>विभिन्न ऐन नीति नियम तथा नियामक निकायले तर्जुमा गरेका निर्देशनहरूको सफलता पुर्वक कार्यान्वयन गर्न आदि।

But the elephant works for 24 hours & eats grass.
