It’s being called everything from “embarrassing and tragic” to simply “very serious” for Norway’s foreign- and foreign aid ministries: All their top political leaders over the past 20 years were being questioned by the Norwegian Parliament’s disciplinary committee this week. At issue are their roles in their long-time financial support of a peace institute in New York that had close ties to the late convicted s*x offender Jeffrey Epstein.

He came home to Norway early last year to support his longtime political ally, Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, and now he doesn’t want to leave.

UPDATED: Lengthy funeral ceremonies were held on Wednesday for Norway’s late King Harald V, whose casket had been lying in state at the Royal Palace for the past week. Tens of thousands of Norwegians had already streamed past it, to pay their respects before it left the palace for a slow procession on foot to the Oslo Cathedral.
