Thanks to Henrik Sundqvist of Orust, Sweden, for taking his album project to Giske.
Henrik and engineer Jaran Gustavson has just completed all guitar tracking and vocals for his album, sounds stellar!

The thriple Two Rock amp setup is completely bonkers!
In addition to being a solid player and songwriter, Henrik also makes his own guitars. Each guitar is totally unique and a piece of art in its on right!

12 months at Ocean Sound, Giske.

Photographer Alexander D. Giskegjerde Larsen have been been documenting a full year around Ocean Sound. A tremendous amount of effort and love have gone into this project. A love for nature and this little island which is Giske. Alexander has been here late and early looking for these beautiful moments passing by!

Together with Alexander we have found our twelve favorite photos, one for each month. As he started this project in August 2023 that’s the first photo to the left.

New "He du hørt" show in the studio! Nylenda consists of the brothers John Olav and Sigbjørn Håland, who were born and raised in Volda, and Øivind Hatleskog. Nylenda delivers modern psychedelic pop with an electronic pulse. With their fluid, almost hypnotic rhythms, Nylenda has been creating dance floors at clubs and festivals since their start in 2016. In the fall of 2021, Nylenda released their debut album Medicating a Prophet to a very positive reception from both Norwegian and international music press. On September 27, Nylenda will release their second album, Skurkebass.

Nylenda's new album, Skurkebass, is a dynamic and genre-defying album that takes the listener on a captivating musical journey. Nylenda moves seamlessly between the playful tones of 60s psychedelic pop and infectious electronic rhythms. With their fearless exploration of genres, this album is a testament to Nylenda's commitment to breaking boundaries and creating music that is both familiar and innovative. As a result, Skurkebass emerges as an album that appeals equally to both attentive listeners and those ready to hit the dance floor.

These seasoned architects and students of further education from The Oslo School of Architecture and Design got a full tour of the studio today!

They got a little glimpse of how we utilise our rooms and acoustics as well as how the rooms aim to balance between sounding good on one hand as well as being an inspiring and creative space to be in.

The tutor, Even Smith Wergeland, is also the author of the book Sonic Heritage, in which Ocean Sound is festured along with some of the coolest studios around the world.
