Finding the right client can be a job in itself. I'm glad to say that a majority of my clients have been amazing to work with and have become great work partners & a part of the growing High Tide family!

It's important when vetting a prospective client to make sure that they pass your test. I created this short checklist as a way to process a client through.

💬 Communication is key. Does your prospect respond in a reasonable manner? Are they open with their communication? It's important to remember everyone is busy, but there should still be effort on both ends.

👤 Transparency is also extremely important in the process. I've found that the best clients of mine have been the ones who can be honest & share their opinions. It's how we work together to create a product that we're both happy with!

💻 A client who understands the importance of a social media manager is ideal. There's often a perception that social media managers are a waste of a role and that the business owner can just do it themselves but this is far from the truth. A good social media manager will be able to market your business effectively & efficiently while you can focus on other needs.

🤔 The best clients are the ones who are open to change & new ideas. Social media is a constantly evolving world and it's important to stay with the trends. The clients who are excited to see how a viral strategy can work with their business are the best!

👥 Working as a team with your client is key to getting projects done. I've found that by using organization tools like Asana & Loomly, I'm able to easily run ideas past my clients and show them posts before they go up. Makes life easier for all!

🎗️Feeling supported in your role is an amazing feeling. An ideal client is one who is willing to help you out if you run into any issues or give you the tools to succeed in a project.

👬 The best feeling is when a client becomes a friend! It makes it much easier to collaborate & find different ways of showing their personality in the content you create. It also makes all the mundane work things like meetings, shoots & reviews much more fun.

Hello everyone! I have so many new followers and connections that I only thought it was right to give a proper introduction!

My name is Jake, and I’m the founder of High Tide. I’ve been running High Tide since I was in college, but fully branded into a full-time LLC in January 2024. I do everything from social media marketing, website design, graphic design & more!

High Tide started out as my summer job and I always knew one day I wanted to make it my full time career but never did I think at 24 that I’d be doing it!

My journey with High Tide has already awarded me so many great opportunities and has given me the chance to connect & integrate with the creative industry in Greater Boston and work with so many amazing folks.

Aside from work, I absolutely love (of course) going to the beach, listening to my favorite pop stars especially Miss Swift, hanging out with friends, traveling, running & my new found obsession of plant shopping. Chances are if I’m not on my laptop I’m doing one of those things!

I’m excited to see where High Tide takes me next, and I hope that you follow me on my journey!

Juggling many clients at once can seem like a daunting task and sometimes it can be overwhelming. But it doesn't always have to be!

There are a few simple steps to follow to make sure your week starts off on the right foot:

🗓️ Get organized: There are so many amazing organizing tools that can help track your progress on projects and tasks. I am a big fan of Loomly & Monday!

🗺️ Map out weekly tasks: I find that by mapping out my daily tasks allows me to see what tasks need to be completed as soon as possible and what may be allowed to be put on the back burner for now.

👨‍💻Make a content plan: It’s important to always stay up to date on what the latest trending content is. I check a few different websites and reports of content I created the previous week to see what is working and what isn’t, and that helps determine my planning for the week!

🚶‍♂️Take short breaks: Taking breaks is KEY to not burning out. I like to go for a run, do some errands, or even stop by a friend's house for lunch just to have a break in my day.

🥳Plan something fun: Even though social media work can be a fun job, it's always nice to have things outside of the digital world to look forward too. Plan a night after work to catch up with friends, or plan a fun night out at the end of the week. Freelancers can have fun too!
