Edvard Grieg Mu

The International Edvard Grieg Piano Competition is organized by - and arranged at - the Edvard Grieg Museum Troldhaugen in Bergen, Norway, along with KODE Art Museums and Composer Homes. Given the pristine setting and excellent concert facilities at Troldhaugen, the decision was made to move the Competition, previously known as “Concours Grieg” in Oslo, to the heart of Grieg’s inspiration – his

beloved home in Bergen. Our sincere hope for this competition is to offer all participants not only a world-class arrangement, but also the unique opportunity to get an understanding of Grieg’s world of inspiration by experiencing Norwegian hospitality, culture and its abundant nature. The 17th International Edvard Grieg Piano Competition will be arranged 26 August - 3 September 2022 at Troldhaugen. The Competition will consist of in total four rounds, three rounds in Troldhaugen's chamber music hall "Troldsalen" and the final round in the "Grieg Hall" in the city center of Bergen. The Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra will accompany the finalists. The foundation Stiftelsen Kristian Gerhard Jebsen is the main sponsor and the exclusive private contributor to the competition.
