Friday I had the opportunity to catch this mighty Chinook during the Basic Helicopter Training for AMOL3. During this exercise the troops practice their drills to board and deploy from the helicopter. The nice winter sun wasmaking this a very enjoyable hour.

This morning I went to Rotterdam for the World port Days 2024. The Dutch navy was demonstrating some capabilities including the use of a DHC NH90 helicopter. A different background than usual.

Today Cougar S-445 was working together with the Airmobile Brigade in training new recruits during their Basic Helicopter Training.

This afternoon 5 EC-145 helicopters from HSG64 of the German Air Force flew a trainings mission together with a Cougar of 300 squadron of the Dutch Air Force. Both units have the task to work together with Special Forces. Today they practiced a Car Blocking Operation at the Ginkelse Hei. Two helicopters were providing overwatch while the others brought in the ground troops to catch the "villain". Unfortunately the sun had just disappeared behind a large cloud.

Found myself some time to scan some of my old black and white negatives from the early 90's. During these years I visited the Russian airfields in Eastern Germany. Hear a first preview. I expect to upload more in the coming weeks.
