From the start, Young Smoke (currently going by Yunng Smoke) has established himself as being part of the first wave of internationally recognized footwork producers from Chicago, through Planet Mu (OFFICIAL)'s renowned Bangs & Works compilation series. Followed by his debut album "Space Zone" on the same label, he carved out his sound palette blending 8-bit nostalgia, blastoff noises, launchpad countdowns, and robotic voices on top of overt lead chords.
For the last decade he has been self-releasing numerous projects through his Bandcamp until now. The forthcoming EP: "The Portal" is a collection of throwbacks and previously unreleased tracks from his early works in 2011-2012. This EP will be released through Liquorish Records on Friday 31st May.
Today we have your first listen of "Battle Field." Young Smoke delivers his unique take on footwork with conceptual sci-fi sounds. The track combines the dance battle energy with an arcade of airy synth melodies and menacing horns, set to heavy 160bpm rhythms. link in comments!

Here is a mix I recorded back in Nov'2023: "80's New Wave Juke". The focus was on playong footwork and 160 tracks based on 80's and New Wave samples. Couple doubtful transitions as this was recorded on a rotary mixer ( see video).

Introduction:
Dreams, flashbacks, fantasies, nightmares, or deja vu's. Blurring the lines in our subconsciousness, the music takes you away, far away. Deep into your mind. Reminiscing of a trance like state, the psyche turns emotions and information into a dynamic multidimensional reality. This mix is an ode to "Dreams" in all senses. It combines ambient and mid 2000's Dubstep to help translate a dream-like feeling. Bon Rêve.
