Coming from a professional environment full of inefficient approvals, inflexible processes and acute risk averseness, she shares that it did not cultivate her innate drive to push for new creative ideas. Luckily since joining Emma, she now has the chance to live her full , to challenge herself intellectually and personally.

Without the obstacles that would slow her down before, Veronika managed to create tremendous impact in her first 8 months at Emma. She took our People Experience to the next level, shifting from a purely operational mindset to a strategic, data-informed and systematic approach of providing an excellent Emmie experience along the whole employee lifecycle. 💫🚀

Everyone, meet Smudge from the Emma Manila Office: our first feline entry for our ! 🐱🐈

Our Senior Team Lead for APAC Recruiting, JN, has been bringing him regularly to the Manila office to spread joy, cuddles, and promote…work-life balance to his fellow Emmies?

JN shows her love for Smudge in the 2nd photo and shares that the best thing about him is that he is a cat of routine and is very disciplined. Eating? Drinking Water? Treats? Bathroom breaks? He will remind his human to do the same — together, awakening their best. 🐱🧡👩

Last week, we joined the Nova School of Business and Economics Career Fair in Lisbon with a stand AND a talk! ✨

We had the chance to meet the students in person to show them a little bit more of the and give them the possibility to ask us whatever they want to know about a day-to-day of an Emmie.

In our talk, two of our Emmies, Luma and Tomás, gave around 50 students a little insight about their journey at Emma (at the end they had the possibility to win a pillow which certainly was one of the highlights of the talk 😋)

At Emma, we strongly believe that we all can being surrounded by likeminded people that inspire and motivate you. The engagement was incredible, and we were able to connect with the students to answer follow up questions or doubts, even after the fair 💡✨😇

“Instead of challenging the people sharing , we challenge the idea itself”.

Meet Kashan Beck, our Engineering Manager from the Frankfurt Office and is now spearheading both the Engineering and People topics for the E-Commerce Team! 🛏️🖥️

His story begins when he first entered Germany as a Syrian refugee in 2015, jumping from job to job while studying his Masters, and navigating through a new country and a new culture. His growth and journey at Emma started in 2020, and just within a year and a half, he was already leading the Research and Development as Tech Lead of one of Emma’s most notable product line, The Emma Motion, with only just a small team of minds 🧠 and big challenge to tackle. 👊

And now thanks to Emma, he enters a new growth path after exploring what to do next; entering the E-Commerce team as an Engineering Manager (now also as an official German) with the ambitious goal to grow the team further with top talents and establish exceptional engineering culture globally that allows experts at Emma to learn and grow in their skills as a team, where questions are encouraged, ideas can be shared, challenged and implemented, and dynamics can be transparent.

Get to know Marta, our Team Lead Warehouses, who studied Industrial Engineering at Nova FCT in Lisbon, Portugal and understand the reasons behind her joining Emma 😊

I joined Emma with the expectation to be able to have full ownership and drive my own projects and initiatives! I wanted to experience the start up world and see for myself if the fast paced Emma was everything that was said. And I can tell you, it is! I started in the Benelux Ops and within 6 months was leading the team that runs the warehouses for Central and Northern Europe. Got the chance to visit several operations, open and closing warehouses and grow the team. Like when I was studying Industrial Engineering at Nova, Emma is all about hypothesizing🧠, test 🧪, learn ✏️ and adapt! 🤝🚀

A global sleep brand needs a strong global team! And at , we champion fostering collaborations all over the world! The allows Emmies to connect with their teammates through a project-based journey in any of our global offices. 🌏🌟

Today, we feature our Head of People & Organization Development, Hannah Börner, and our Senior Team Lead for Learning and Knowledge, Leonie Rodenbücher, both from the Frankfurt 🇩🇪 office who chose to visit our Manila 🇵🇭 office last November!

Both wanted to participate in this program for so long as many of their teammates are based in the Philippines and this only allowed them to collaborate virtually. Now that they’ve met face-to-face, they were able to learn so much more about the different working cultures and working styles that are quite essential to the P&O perspective. But at the same time, they discovered many similarities through different Emmies’ stories that brought them more together! 🤝

From the many food trips, team projects, engagements and more, Hannah and Leonie learned that global awareness really starts with the simple interactions you have with your everyday teammates. Through the GGP, they were able to do just that; to create meaningful conversations that can foster better collaboration and broaden many horizons. “Adventerous, Eye-Opening, and Connection” are the three words they used to describe their journey, and they can’t wait to take what they’ve learned, and apply it more as they continue to look after the development of Emmies across the globe. 🏆🗺️

“Emma meant high involvement in impactful projects from day 1. I joined the ops team, thrilled to contribute to the challenge of managing a complex supply chain in a rapidly growing company.

Now as a junior project manager, I feel the responsibility of making sure I am working on the right projects at the right time while contributing to standardizing our operations.

What I like the most about Emma is the opportunity to witness the company growth on a daily basis. The encouragement to take calculated risks and to learn from them motivates you to go the extra-mile. That’s what makes Emma so special.”

Get to know Luca, our current Junior Supply Chain Manager who started as an intern in Operations Management UK. Here's how he decided to join us as a full-time 💜🚀:

“I decided to join Emma because it was one of the fastest growing with an open-minded and environment and working in the Global Ops team would have allowed me to learn and grow as fast as the company!

When I was an Intern, I was supporting my colleagues managing the UK/IE Suppliers making sure we had enough stock coverage to fulfill the demand.

After 3 months I switched to the Supply Chain Excellence team within Procurement, and I learned everything about our products and our Global Supply Chain Network. At the same time, I was able to question the status quo of our processes creating new Standard Operational Procedures that set clear responsibilities and timelines for all tasks.

When I’ve been promoted as an FTE, I started working in several Projects in contact with different internal stakeholders with the aim to improve visibility within the whole Company of Procurement Data and our product’s End-to-End costs.

What I like about Emma is the sense of . Since the beginning, I was responsible of relevant topics, and this helped me to speed up my personal and professional .”

With a growing office comes a growing team at ! 🌟

Meet Jack De Dios, our new Office Management filled with the drive to grow right out of college. Filled with fresh ideas and a budding journey, he shares how he answered the call to his best as an :

"I chose to join Emma because I saw the company at my school's virtual job fair, and they seemed to be very interesting. I initially wanted to join their marketing team for my practicum because I felt there was a lot I could play around with the concept of sleep. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make the cut, so I focused on finishing university and then took a short break to get to know who I was and what I can do.

I decided to take another shot at Emma but as an intern for Office Management after a while, because I felt I had a lot to offer in my background to human relations from my extracurricular activities, and numerous volunteer work that tackles engagement activities.

From initially not getting into Emma, to becoming their Office Management Intern with more skills and experiences to offer and hone after my break, I am now able to produce results even while being my playful self. I can say for sure that the latter has made my work in Emma much more enjoyable and it's something I liked most about the journey."

Meet Brandon Payet who first joined Emma as a customer service agent and is now leading the Paid Social & Influencer Marketing team (French Market).

Back in the day, Brandon had no background in marketing - he actually specialized in cinema 🎥 After managing customers on Emma's socials, he began to pick up some marketing skills. In two years, Brandon has made waves of impact. From launching our Influencer Marketing channel, used now by almost all countries at Emma🚀 pushing Paid Social channels and building his Social Marketing Team from the ground up. And soon, he will be able to share his knowledge and push other countries on Paid Social!

At Emma - The Sleep Company and are a very important part of our journey, so we were super excited by being present at the @ Online Marketing Rockstar Festival (OMR) with our partner @ commercetools

In these last two days, was present at the OMR festival, in Hamburg, one of the most significant Online Marketing events in Germany Our amazing CTO @ Andreas gave a masterclass on "How to crack the billion EUR revenue - one night at a time" 🚀 where he shared an in-depth look at Emma's transition and re-platforming to our Emma's Commerce Operating System - , and the principles of a modern commerce architecture.

Besides having this incredible knowledge-sharing session, our teams did an incredible job in preparing a joint booth with commercetool, where every attendee was able to get to know Emma a little bit more. And, since preparing such an amazing event, also takes a lot of energy, we provided the Emma Relax Area In here, the crew members of the OMR were able to take a rest and recharge their batteries for the rest of the day!

Congratulations to everyone involved in this event! This was definitely a huge success and we can't wait for what the future holds.
