New Cinema Rig coming together
One Eye Maestro
We tested out our Macro lens today and decided to make a mini-short to also flex our narrative muscles. We tried to make use of the Kuleshov effect turning a neutral eye into a forceful presence.
We love our vintage 50mm Canon lens with Macro adapter. Still can't believe it only cost 10 euros! This will certainly make all the difference in the next short we're currently developing. We just need to remember to use our good tripod, because the cheap one we used now is a bit too unstable for these shots.
PS: Please watch the film in HD. The standard Facebook settings are butchering the quality
Shooting additional footage for our upcoming documentary The Labels That We Are Given about Syrian refugees and the stigmas they are confronted with. We never pass up an opportunity to shoot with our slider. Today's subject was an old cassette player we found at the thrift store for €7,50!
The wonderful thing about our cameras is that we can use almost any lens we want because of the Micro Four Thirds mount of our cameras. This gives us an enormous amount of creative freedom and allows ustudents to look fo great deadeal without worrying whether oor no they fi our camera.
The first lens that you can see in the slideshow is the Holga 25mm f8 pinhole lebs which we bought for 10 euros. Add a OM to MFT adapter and we're reafy to go! This lens gives a beautiful vintage look without the use of Instagram filters.
The second lens (the really big one) is a 135mm Pentagon f2.8 we bought at the flea market for 2 euros! We already had the M42 to MFT adapter so a great buy to give us some extra reach!
