Toneshed Studio Toneshed is a full service music production studio, specialised in rock and metal. I am currently the bass player in the dutch rock band Battersea.

Hi, my name is Erwin Hermsen and I am the owner and audio engineer / producer at Toneshed Recording Studio. I am a musician myself, playing guitars and bass in several bands and projects. I worked with over 100 artists, bands and labels in the last 15 years, helping them to achieve their music production goals. Artists like Dead Head, Pentacle, Cirith Gorgor, Pestilence, Mass Deception, Inquisitor

, Collision, Mangled and many more, found their way to the studio. Record labels include Metal Blade, Century Media, Listenable, Ván Records, Hammerheart, Iron Pegasus, RVP and Rock Company,

I listen to what musicians love about their music, or other music, and I try to enhance those aspects in the sounds I’m working on. Wether it is guitar tone, snare punch, bass power, roominess…anything really. My goal is to achieve maximum customer satisfaction…always! That is my promise to you!

Meet Koen Versleijen and his story. A young man from Horst who was diagnosed with Usher disease a few years ago. He will eventually turn blind and probably deaf. Together with writer Alwin Grijseels, he wrote a book about it that has been released last friday.
He also wrote a song together with Bart van der Sterren. We had the honour to record, mix and master the end result.

So…2024 is almost a wrap for Toneshed Studio. It has been the most busy year in its 20 years of existence.

I am extremely grateful for this and proud I made the decision 5 years ago to do this every day. I want to say thank you to all the people I have had the pleasure working with up until now. You are the best! 🙏🏼

I also want to thank Fons van Dijk for keeping up with me, helping out when times get too busy to handle it all by myself 💪🏻

In the next weeks we will be stripping down our control room for an acoustic and visual update.
Plans made by an acoustic consultancy were on the shelf for many years and now is the time for the upgrade. The goal is to work better and more decisive in a creative and visually appealing environment. I will keep you posted.
