Over the past few days, many of you have expressed concerns about our decision to discontinue perpetual plugin licenses and our move to an exclusive plugin subscription model. We understand that our move was sudden and disruptive, and did not sufficiently take into consideration your needs, wishes, and preferences. We are genuinely sorry for the distress it has caused.

After respectfully listening to your concerns, I want to share with you that we are bringing back the perpetual plugin license model, side-by-side with the new subscriptions. You will again be able to get plugins as perpetual licenses, just as before.

In addition, those of you who already own perpetual licenses will once again be able to update your plugins and receive a second license via the Waves Update Plan—again, just as before. This option, too, will be available alongside and independently of the subscription program.

We are currently putting all our efforts into making perpetual licenses available to you again, as quickly as possible. In the meantime, you can keep up-to-date on this news page: https://www.waves.com/news/perpetual-waves-licenses-are-back where we will post the latest updates on perpetual license availability.

I would like you to know that we are committed to you, our users. We listened to your feedback, and we will continue to listen to you. Waves is a company filled with users and creators, just like you, and we are all as passionate about the products as you are. Back to work for The Boss Brothers - A tribute to Bruce Springsteen mixing Springsteen’s “I Wish I Were Blind” from the last Hometown Show in De Nobelaer.

Mixing a live recording of You’re Missing for The Boss Brothers - A tribute to Bruce Springsteen!

Next month The Boss Brothers - A tribute to Bruce Springsteen will release a song never officially released by Bruce Springsteen himself (he gave it to Donna Summer though and she released it). The song is Protection and is mixed by yours truly.

I picked up these old Yamaha NS-244’s today. I didn’t expect them to be this huge, so I made a little miscalculation there, but they sound just the way I expected them too; terrible bass response and hyped mid range. I’ll bet you can hear it too when I switch back and forth between the Yamaha’s and the KRK’s eventhough the audio is recorded with my phone. Don’t know if they sound like NS-10’s, but since those babies are pretty expensive on the second hand market, I was willing to give these a shot. They are way cheaper and do the same trick basically.

Back to mixing a live recording of The Boss Brothers - A tribute to Bruce Springsteen and enjoying the Solid State Logic (SSL) E-Channel emulation by Waves Audio. Should have bought this plug in years ago!

Having some fun with Clearmountain's Spaces from Apogee Electronics while mixing a live recording of Atlantic City by The Boss Brothers - A tribute to Bruce Springsteen. Using the plugin in dual mono mode for two different pre delay times for the same verb.

Currently working on a mix of a live recording for my own band The Faction. It's a 4 piece band so to "fatten" things up I made a copy of the guitar and synth tracks, hard panned those to the opposite direction of where they originally were, delayed them 50ms and EQ'd them like an old telephone/megaphone. Tuck the copied tracks underneath the original tracks and things start to sound a little wider and fuller. It's a neat little trick I picked up from Bobby Huff.
