🔍 Finding housing in the Netherlands can often be a tricky situation. Knowing where to start, how to navigate the process and what to do, can be difficult. The Netherlands probably has some different norms than what you’re used to.
🏠 This search often takes place in the backdrop of a volatile housing market which can present various issues for onlookers. This can vary from severe housing shortages, overinflated pricing, and not knowing where to go or who to trust.
🤗 However, we are here to assist! Check out our short animation and visit our website for more in-depth details on the specifics of finding accommodation in the Netherlands - ranging from registration, housing rights, and where to start with it all.

🏠 Moving to the Netherlands but unsure what to do? You’ll first want to start with registration at your new address and receive a citizen service number, known in the Netherlands as a BSN.
📃A BSN is essential to accessing core necessities such as opening a bank account and accessing healthcare. It’s also important to note which type of registration you may need - depending on the length of your stay. Additionally, depending on your country of origin, you may need a residence permit.
💡Please check out our short video, and for more in-depth information, check out the registration sections of our website.

🟠 🇳🇱 Here is some important information about our upcoming holidays
Celebrate King's Day
The Dutch love a good party, which is why King's Day may be the best party in the Netherlands. It is a national holiday, one of the most famous Dutch festivities where we celebrate King Willem-Alexander's birthday with lots of music, dancing, flea markets, and fun fairs all over The city of The Hague.
👑The Royal Tour
Members of the Royal Family have been residing in The Hague virtually continuously for over four centuries now. Traditionally, the royal family visits a different municipality each year. This year, the King will visit Rotterdam.
King’s Day is soon followed by our national Remembrance Day on 4 May and Liberation Day on 5 May.
🔕Two minutes of silence on Remembrance Day in the Netherlands
Since the end of the Second World War, the Netherlands commemorates victims of war on 4 May. At 20:00 the whole country takes part in two minutes of silence. In most cities there is a local remembrance ceremony around WWII monuments.
In The Hague you can visit the remembrance monument on Waalsdorpervlakte, in front of the Peace Palace or the children's remembrance at Madurodam.
On 5 May the Netherlands celebrates Liberation Day. The Liberation Day Festival will be held on Het Malieveld and is free for all!
