VRT ZOMERLAND - Yesterday ‘Boom Nama Gan Gan’ feat. RACHEAL BOTHA was played again on the Belgian VRT RADIO 1 program Zomerland (summer edition of Wonderland) To my great surprise they also played the opening track of my 2010 ‘78 r.p.m. compilation ‘Congo Jazz’ right after that. Now that is what I call adventures radio.
‘I’m Mister African’ by Leon Rene’s Orchestra. The track had its first ever release with Congo Jazz, as this great recording was rejected by VICTOR RECORDING COMPANY in 1932. It’s not only because of the food, that I love to perform in Belgium and France so much. 😀

Last Friday my new single ‘Boom Nama Gan Gan’ was released by Excelsior Recordings The official video has about 12.000 views already.
Dutch newspaper DE VOLKSKRANT called it a #summerhit and made it their ‘Track of the Week’. Regional news papers like Brabants Dagblad and De Havenloods Rotterdam reported about the the new single.
‘Boom Nama Gan Gan has already been played on 3FM (Frank & Eva), NPO RADIO 2, RADIO 10 )Gerard Ekdom), Belgian VRT RADIO 1 program Wonderland, and internet radiostations like NPO Soul & Jazz, KINK & 40up.
I’m glad that many people seem to like the video Pepijn van Achterberg and Hans Eikmans made for us.
But as I put a lot of effort into the recording quality, I suggest to also give ‘Boom Nama Gan’ a try on streaming platforms like Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music, Deezer, Napster..........and a proper set of headphones or speakers off course. Enjoy!!! (See link above)
