COFFEE BREAK WITH URBANA EPISODE 8.
Q***ring and Q***r Space with Edson Cabalfin. Urban spaces have so many functions, uses and users. But the complexity of cities including its spaces and users makes urban spaces such an interesting subject for research and discussion. Q***r spaces are something that a lot of us in urban planning do not discuss outright. It's like a closeted discussion but one that should be discussed in this day and age. Q***r spaces according to Aaron Betsky are spaces used by qu**rs, rather than spaces that are inherently 'q***r'. These are spaces that all of us use but with a specific use for some. ***rSpaces ***r Philippine Association of Landscape Architects Tulane University

COFFEE BREAK WITH URBANA EPISODE 6
There are a number of issues threatening our world today. These threats if not addressed in terms of adaptation or mitigation lead to a disaster. We hear about natural hazards but is a disaster natural? What makes a disaster a disaster? What makes us so vulnerable to these disasters? Ilan Kelman of the UCL joins us for a coffee break to talk about disasters, vulnerability, and why a disaster can actually be our choice?

COFFEE BREAK WITH URBANA EPISODE 4: Urban Poor and City Planning - Part 1
Urbanization has left many urban poor at the margins of development. This is particularly daunting in cities in developing countries. Most of the time, these urban poor communities live in hazardous areas, such as along the banks of the river, condemned buildings, and those far worse off under the bridge. Many cities are struggling to find ways to provide social housing for the poor. In today’s coffee break we will talk about this with Dr. Mary Racelis a sociologist and anthropologist with decades of experience in this field of urban poor, urban planning and urban development.

In today’s Coffee break with Urbana we ask this question to Dr. Jung Won Sonn of Bartlett School of Planning, University College London.
