Ok ok guys hear me out, Imolas ears arent permanently up again. They just like to get wonky at times and do their own thing haha. These are photos from today , you see she has them sometimes facing normal gravity!

We went to see how big the lake where we usually paddelboard is, welp it did not dissapoint us, it was HUGE ahaha

Oh and yeah, rain is here again. It was nice 6 days without floods and raining, but we are back to the same pattern again weehoo

Ekko the grandpa! Snowflakes do make him look older, or am I the only one seeing it like that? Haha

I am so happy that FINALLY rain stopped, after constantly raining since beginning of October, it is dry! And it will stay dry for the rest of the week! Yay!That makes me so happy haha

Also Ekko says that you guys should eat chicken feet! Did you guys know that in Croatia we (humans) actually eat chicken feet in soup? I find them so delicious but I know many people will be disgusted by it haha. In Netherlands I cant even find raw chicken feet to purchase because its “not for human consumption”, what a lie!

Imola is waiting to see the sun!🔅
Can you believe that We had her for more than two months and poor puppy didnt even see sun for more than 3 days? How unreal.

Anyways,
Dobby ear phase is sadly gone. Shes also lost almost all front teefers, got few of shark ones left. I am unsure about the back/side ones. I didnt keep track haha

Tbh I dont even know where all of the front ones ended, did she eat them or Ekko ate them or I vacuumed them. I didnt find a single one 🥲

But then again I found alot of Ekko’s teef and I did not keep any of them, so I probably wouldnt keep hers either 🤣

My two little serious faces.🐶

I didnt think it will be this challenging to take photo of them both at the same time🤣 Ekko goes away if she starts giving him ‘kisses’ and Imola doesnt want to sit or lay down on wet leaves or anything wet in general. I remember Ekko also had a phase when he didnt want to do it as a teen, but now he doesnt mind.
I hope little princess stops minding it so much , she will ‘try’ to mimic a sit pose in air if i have a toy out trying to outsmart me🤣

Finally a photo togehter with my two little aussies 🐶

We just need someone to take a complete family photo of us. 🙈

Things have been really hectic last month and not how I expected them to go, but we are making progress, slow but steady. Also we are closely monitoring upcoming forecast and looking at possibilities for our first weekend getaway next week if there will be snow nearby. Fingers crossed 🤞

Are you ready for winter? ❄️

I am always ready but Netherlands is never ready for it🤣
This is last years photo around this time, It was quite cold and frosty early december, not so much later in the season🌧️🌧️.

This is Ekkos favorite time , he loves snow, frost and temperatures below zero. Imola so far seems to be quite cold at moments ( its around 5-10 celsius atm) so if the forecast for next week turns out to be true, we have to go to store to get her a coat 🌬️I was planning on getting her at least a midlayer but I hoped I can postpone it to when shes a bit older, cuz shes gonna outgrow whatever I buy her now 🙈

I really should try to take more photos of them two together outside. We dont do too much activities with them both still, I also have to condition Imola on the backpack first (I keep forgetting about it with how many things we are working on😅). I am sure she is able to walk with us for more than an hour in the forest but she definitely shouldnt and wont.

They say that beginning of december will be quite cold. Maybe this winter finally we can ice skate ( not the dogs obviously🤣), since I dont count on snow🤞

Autumn is not over yet 🍁

I do have to admit that I miss enjoying autumn. My life has really been consisting recently about building the bond with Imola, but also at the same time adjusting Ekko to the new family situation.

I knew it will be a process for him aswell because hes not a dog that plays with other dogs, but I do hope he will accept her and treat her as he treats Koda, his bestie. It will probably get a bit better when we start taking them more to together walks. I dont see much point in it yet because it doesnt bring much to Imolas socialization process.

So this approach is very time consuming for us, but hope in long run is worth it,so that both dogs are happy and confident 🤞🤗

Autumn in Netherlands before the storm. I did not go yet in the forest to see how many leaves are left on the trees and how many branches&trees are on the ground, but I assume it is not as nice as before.

I promised to take puppy pumpkin photos for amazing tag from ( check them out, they are STUNNING!) and eventhough Imola outgrew the pumpkin and she didnt fit in anymore, we still got some nice shots.

Busy days ahead, ekko will be having lots of grandparents babysitting services and we are blessed to have them. We do leave Ekko alone at home but not when we are more than 2-3 hours away or when its during the afternoon/morning time for his meals.

Yesterday we went to try out new cars, we are going to say goodbye to our Kuga soon🥲 and well Ekko was a bit annoyed we didnt take him with us haha. He always has a sulky face if hes not included in everything we do - even if it means just sitting or laying down doing nothing whole day, he loves being part of it. Ofc Id love to take him everywhere but sadly sometimes I cant.

Is your dog also like Ekko and just wanna go everywhere you go, even if its not always super exciting them?

Theoretically I should be slowly transitioning to autumn feed like everyone else is, BUT its still sooo green here because we have had and still have so much rain. I always want the colors of leaves to turn faster and then somewhere at end of November and December I get tired of them. Well also because I want snow which here is a rare find. Luckily I have lots of photos from last year to share hehe

Poser. Just a few seconds after tourists wanted to take photos of Ekko. Of course, as he loves attention, he gladly did tricks to impress them. From my point of view photos didnt look so good so I didnt post those🙈

I know we have been quiet but theres alot things going on. Mainly we are trying to make it work to also get a house in Croatia so that we can live in both countries without stomping my parents house and also to have a bit more privacy and space here. I also cant wait to be in CRO off season so we can explore more mountain areas. I hope to join the hiking club here eventually and I reaaaaally wanna try Highlander event to see if my back and body can handle camping🙈

We are going back to the Netherlands next week so see you from there!

Daydreaming about snowy days. Back in the days he had more energy and was more happy when it wasnt this hot even on top of the mountain. I really want to start doing canicross with Ekko but my stamina are just not the best for it.. I did test yesterday, with separately Hugo and Ekko, to see is there a difference in how they run and Hugo just stops all the time to look at me and goes on my sides left and right, a bit messy… Ekko eventhough I technically trained him to not jump on me while running, by being next to me, now runs in front with pulling me lightly and turning or stopping on a command… so I think hes trying to tell me that he might be a sled doggo haha I mean, Ideally i would like bikejoring but I think I have to get him used on running first or do you guys know any better? #rexspecs #dogsthathike #hikingdogsofinstagram #hikingdog #australianshepherd #dogsofinsta #bluemerle #bluemerleaussie
