Wabi-sabi -

A Japanese philosophy that finds beauty in imperfection, impermanence, and the natural cycle of growth and decay. It embraces the flawed, the incomplete, and the transient, valuing simplicity, rusticity, and the authenticity of objects aged by time.

Wabi-sabi encourages an appreciation for the understated and the imperfect, highlighting the beauty found in life's fleeting and humble moments.

In a world that pushes polished, glossy images of fake perfection I think we all need more Wabi-Sabi in our life.

It’s almost been a week since someone dearest to my heart surprised me on my birthday.

Tucked away in the middle of nowhere is a gnomes hotel that lets you experience how it feels living in their world. Never in my wildest imagination would I have thought of such place exist. It was a unique experience sleeping in one of their hotel rooms. Many people may say that it is ordinary but for me it was extraordinary!

Behold the pictures below!

Yesterday’s storm was one of those Summer storms that comes unexpectedly and goes away quickly! But it did not stop us from roaming around the grounds of Vaeshartelt.

Vaeshartelt is located on the edge of Maastricht, surrounded with lush greenery.

Vaeshartelt has a centuries-old history. Already in Roman times Maastricht was an important traffic hub, with connections to Tongeren and Boulogne, Aachen and Cologne. To the north of the city, at Vaeshartelt, was the junction of the Via Belgica to Xanth and Nijmegen.

Throughout its long history, the country estate has hosted kingly hunts, welcomed important military figures, and housed wealthy families. One of Vaeshartelt Castle's most distinguished residents was the controversial Petrus Regout, the first Dutch industrialist. The country estate is thought to date back to the 10th century, when Queen Gerberga of Saxony donated her estates in Meerssen to the Abbey of Rheims.
It was owned by the Van Muckeln and Cortenbach families and by William II of the Netherlands.

In the well-kept park everyone can take a nice walk and enjoy all the beauty Vaeshartelt has to offer, as well as enjoy a perfectly tapped Belgian beer on the sunny terrace or a tasty burger at the bar. - source: Google

TREK - is a Dutch word which means the wish to eat. It is a food truck festival held annually at the city park of Maastricht. It was cut short this year due to bad weather conditions. I’m glad I was able to make it during the opening day.
