[WILLEM VAN KOOTEN]

It is with great sadness that we learned of the decease of Willem J. van Kooten, music entrepreneur and former discjockey at a.o. Radio Veronica. Every self-respecting radio disc jockey in the Netherlands is indebted to him. It was Willem who came back to the Netherlands from a US roundtrip with the phenomenon Top 40. And the Dutch Top 40 is still relevant today, 60 years later!
Willem was also and above all the founder of music publisher Nanada Music and record company Red Bullet.

Willem was, since our adventure started again, for a period of around 10 years also partner and shareholder in High Fashion Music. You can't have a better co-founder.

You can have so much talent, if there is no one to give you a chance and believes in you, you are nowhere.

Willem gave very wise lessons when we started in the music-industry. As a result, High Fashion Music was built up into what it is today. And we value and respect every day the lessons he gave. We owe Willem a lot of thanks. Without him, High Fashion Music would have looked very different.

[EXTENDED FUN]
Between 1983 and '87, Fun Fun - a studio project fronted by a trio of female vocalists - delivered some of the most commercially successful Italo-disco records around, with a trademark sound that drew much from the club-ready sound of Hi-NRG. This double-disc collection, subtitled 'The Final Edition', rounds up their greatest hits, B-sides, album tracks, alternative mixes and club versions. Fittingly, it begins with their most lauded track of all, the 'Scratch Mix' of 'Happy Station', before offering up such gems as the tactile and dreamy synth-pop perfection of 'Sing Another Song (Remix)', the soaring Hi-NRG pop perfection of 'Baila Bolero', the sing-along joy of 'Give Up Your Fight (Boxer Remix)' - which sounds like a lost Shep Pettibone club rework from 1986 - and a silly-but-fun cover of the Monkees 'I'm a Believer'.
