The moment has finally arrived: the actual presentation of the iO Pages trophy for 2022 to the band INHALO. This event will take place during the band's performance at Parkvilla - Kunsteducatie, Filmhuis, Theater on Friday, November 24th.

After the COVID-affected years, the prog magazine thought it was time to revive this trophy, and at the same time came 'Sever', the first releases of the first band on our new record label! An autobiographical concept album about dealing with obsessive thoughts. An album that received much praise in the prog magazine iO Pages ( #179, July 2022). The highest award!

Inhalo's music is so uniquely special that there are really no words for it. Innovative melodic prog rock with a robust alternative sound: expressive vocals, complex compositions, passionate playing, and nuanced layers of sound. Combine that with exceptional instrument mastery, and you have a new, yet seasoned, band offering a lot to the prog scene. The editorial team wholeheartedly supported this by awarding the iO Pages trophy for 2022 to Inhalo!

Known for their enchanting melodies and idiosyncratic compositions. The Dutch band Inhalo pushes the boundaries of prog metal. With their powerful vocals and virtuoso instrumental prowess, they are sure to leave you enchanted. Their debut album 'Sever’, released in 2022, received the iO Pages' 'Prog Award 2022', Aardschok Magazine's 'Eremetal' and Heaven Magazine 'Album Of The Week' to name just a few achievements.

Hackberry will bring their unique mix of instrumental progressive rock and metal to the stage. In October 2023 they opened the prestigious ProgPower Europe Festival in Baarlo and left the audience completely captivated to loud applause. The album 'Breathing Space', released in 2022, received rave reviews with quotes such as “Their strong melodic themes take Hackberry far above the norm” (Gitarist).

Serious Music Alphen has been offering Dutch progressive rock bands a beautiful stage in Parkvilla - Kunsteducatie, Filmhuis, Theater for years. Many bands have already played at the theater, but on Friday, November 24, 2023 it will be INHALO's first time.

To promote an acoustic 10" single and in honor of the Haarlem Vinyl Festival, Inhalo played 'unplugged' this evening in the seventeenth-century Grote Vermaning church. The classical decor lent itself to a wide range of instruments. The winners of the iO Pages Award 2022 had invited guest musicians to fully convey their concept album Sever with all its nuances. A suitable, intimate opportunity to experience its layered structure.

Keyboardist Erik van Ittersum provided the alternative prog rock with extra harmonious tones, with the intro and outro on the grand piano. Sarangi player Vincent Swierstra had the leading role with his Indian string instrument during the subdued Eventide. Regular members also used classical instruments. Drummer Pepijn Gros alternated the progressive rhythms on his drum kit with a bass drum. Lead guitarist Roy Willems played his solos in a flamenco-like manner - almost acoustically, because amplifiers were eagerly used under the church vaults. Susana Raya and Peter Cats turned it into a swinging rock temple with their powerful rhythm guitars and rumbling basses.

The biggest eye-catcher was Fons Herder, whose pure lead vocals and passionate personality were particularly convincing. It was really about something for him. His self-confident lyrics could not be understood verbatim during loud pieces such as Sisyphean and Last Vestige, but even then his message came across loud and clear.

A sincere atmosphere, full of professionalism and warmth. The members of Inhalo appeared to work closely together. The audience and stage guests were lovingly welcomed into their midst. People who weren't there missed something; this band is ready for a big audience.

When Construction Records hadn't been founded yet, but there were already plans to do so, 'Necrologies' by Scarlet Stories was the first title for which we did the vinyl production. It was only later that the name Construction Records was coined and the label really started, which is why our logo is not printed on the back of the cover.

Last September, four years ago the album was released on CD for the first time and one year later the LP followed! "Necrologies" was printed on red vinyl (sold out long ago) and on traditional black vinyl, which is still available in our web shop!

"Traditionally, less well-known Dutch or Belgian artists are the first band to get a chance on ProgPower Europe Saturday and Sunday. The Dutch Hackberry took advantage of this with a risk: 'Lunares' is a 16-minute, multi-part suite. And when many in the audience experience you live for the first time or even hear you for the first time, it seems a little risky to start off with a song that's as long as a daily show. And that without singing. But it worked. Perhaps even better in the strongly building 'Solitary March' with Mellotron strings from a Nord Electro 6. It's nice how the two guitarists take turns with quite different sounds (rock/bluesy vs. more metal), sometimes alternating, sometimes as little twin leads."

When guitar builder Roy Willems installed a pickup in Vincent Swierstra's sarangi, making him the world's only sarangi player with amplified capabilities, a reciprocal gesture naturally followed. In return, Vincent contributed sarangi to the track 'Eventide' by Roy's band INHALO. How cool is that?

This song is featured on their debut album, 'Sever' as well as the recently released acoustic 10" record, 'Live At Wisseloord Studio'. 'Sever', our label's inaugural release, swiftly earned the IO-Pages Award in 2022.

On October 27th, we'll be releasing two Kaipa albums simultaneously: 'Vittjar' and our personal favorite, 'Sattyg'. Both of these releases will be available on 180-gram newly colored vinyl, complete with gatefold sleeves.

Quote uit de review van White Room m.b.t. het optreden van INHALO afgelopen weekend tijdens Haarlem Vinyl Festival: "Sever werd gebracht op een wijze die afgelopen jaar nooit te bedenken viel.
