The Union Of Musical & Performing Artists - UMPA has been a great factor and a pivot channel to foster the overall objective of dancers in Sierra Leone, to help young Sierra Leoneans inventive dancers to achieve their goals and dreams.

Few months ago The Union Of Musical & Performing Artists - UMPA travelled with 12 Sierra Leonean Dancers to the United States at the just concluded "Gullah Roots Festival Event" that took place at the South Carolina USA. And this dancing trope was lead by Investor Med.

The sensational multi talented choreographer Isata Samai popularly known as StarMai whom bagged the recent UMPA Dancing Festival East VS West Award and also awarded as the best female dancer in the competition was also amongst the 12 Dancers that travelled to the US, and also Starmai was the winner of the best female single dancer in the Us.

The Union Of Musical & Performing Artists - UMPA Diaspora members are trying very hard and working relentlessly to rebrand the dancing sector in our creative industry again.

The dancers work as a staffs and also entertainers to entertain the tourists in the hotels and have fun.

Julius Lahai really used his 15 minutes of success, when he participated as a 7 year old in a television talent show in Libera. It kickstarted his career as an extraordinary musician and entertainer. Only five years after his first perfomance, Julius Lahai toured as a teenager with his own founded boygroup "The Robotics" through Liberia.
After moving from liberia he came to freetown and join one of sierra leone top dancing group called the T-lex professional in the early 90’s and he later have a entertainment contract move to France to further his music career
There he experienced many different music styles, which took influence in his music until today. His first record deal Julius Lahai made in Paris in 1994. Since then he decided to perform the most of his time in Europe. Today Julius Lahai is not only a musician, he also examined as choreographer, and is a passionated dancer and entertainer. Further he composes all his songs himself in the real and passionated old-school way. In summary you can say, Julius Lahai is a really extraordinary musician, dancer and entertainer, putting all his heart in an performance you'll never forget. From 2021 on, Julius Lahai starts to use his great experience and knowledge of music and the music business to produce chosen very talented and promising music artists. In March 2022 he released the first Single - Sweet Sound - of his upcoming Album. The Album will release together with a further Single soon.

Isata Samai is currently studying Performing Art at the Freetown Polly Technique and also a member of the Freetown City Crew Dance Company owned by MR Bobby Coker,
She stated despite being a student her passion for entertainment, especially being a dancer, continues to grow.

Samai have learned to prioritize her tasks and execute them in the most efficient and effective manner therefore The International Coordinator for UMPA who doubles as the CEO of Ukayz Entrainment Master Ukay a Sierra Leonean Philanthropist based in Holland alongside the CEO of Freetown City Crew Dance Company Mr Bobby Coker awarded her a scholarship of paying her studying fees which she was sincerely grateful for.
Samai started dancing while she was in JSS1 till date. She have a natural hunger to learn and innovate. She says Nothing is a bigger motivating factor than the momentum gained from the audience while performing on stage.

She stated that she would love to transfer her knowledge and years of experience onto the next generation of dancers, she has got great teachers and instructors in the past, and now she's ready to pay back the favor, teaching the next get of dancers
