Shortly after Isaac Kofi Bentel graduated from high school, he moved from the central region of Ghana to Accra in search of greener pastures.
When he first arrived in the capital, he did not have enough money for shelter, so he slept on the streets of Ashaiman for months.
After a while he couldn't bear it anymore and decided to stay with his brother, who sold slippers, for a while. During his stay with him, he learned the ins and outs of the trade, but after 3 years he decided to move and find his own way.
To raise capital to start something for himself, Isaac Kofi Bentel became a taxi driver. Through hard work, focus and determination, he managed to raise the necessary amount after a few years. But even though he had the money, it was difficult to find a good location to start up.
It was then that an acquaintance of his introduced him to Mrs Joyce Kwashie, aka Motorway, who sells vegetables and owns some properties at Texpo market, Spintex Rd. After hearing Kofi's story, Mrs. Joyce Kwashie regarded him as her own son and gave him a place to set up a slipper business and another place to keep his stock, all for free.
He wants to thank her for that reason in a very special way.

“I met my wife in Nigeria at a youth camp when she came on holiday. She doesn't really come to Nigeria often, even though she is of Nigerian descent, she is British, but she lives and works in Amsterdam. We got along so well, so I took my chance. And shortly after we met, we got married and had our son a year later. And that's why I had to come and join her here in the Netherlands.
When I first arrived, it was a different environment, and I was trying to find my feet. She was the one who said to me, "Okay, you can do this. You can do that." Because things are different here than in Nigeria. And that was important to me, because I mean, a man has to work, and it is where he finds his great satisfaction. She has helped me find that satisfaction in a new environment, which makes me feel supported.
Besides taking care of the family and all that, that's one important part That's why I want to appreciate her in a special way. I would like to thank her for her support and for her great motivation in my career. She drives me positively to go for more and achieve more.
