Rob Boskamp ft. Rocq-E-Harrell - "In the evening" came out in 2005 on Spinnin' Records as a cdsingle and 12". It was licensed across the planet and got great reviews, made it into the charts, and got played by numerous big name dj's. The song was originally recorded by Sheryl Lee Ralph back in the 80's and covered by us to the house standard at that moment in time. After loads of questions the last couple of years from people worldwide, who contacted me through my social media channels (the song seems to have a certain cult-status among disco afficionados), i finally got in contact with Spinnin' Records and asked if they were willing to do a digital release. 20 jaar Soho in Amsterdam

5 dagen feest!

Twintig jaar geleden, toen Amsterdam zich aan het voorbereiden was voor het begin van het nieuwe Millennium, ging er in de Regulierdwarsstraat een club open voor de fijnproever van lekker uitgaan.

De zaak die Soho werd genoemd, vestigde zich in het monumentale pand waar tussen 1981 en 1996 de roemruchte club Richter zat, een etablissement dat beroemd werd door de wekelijkse tv-show die Jan Lenferink daar opnam. En dat geschiedenis maakte als éen van de eerste zaken in Nederland waar de nieuwe, elektronische dansmuziek werd gedraaid.

Soho zou een andere club worden. Een kwaliteitsclub, waar bezoekers niet bekeken werden, waar discretie hoog in het vaandel stond en je veilig voelen prioriteit nummer 1 was. Waar je – wat voor geaardheid, leeftijd of kleur je ook had – helemaal jezelf kon zijn. Tussen gelijk- en anders gestemden. In dat opzicht leek Soho qua publiek op de fameuze New Yorkse club Studio 54 waar g**s & hetero's, blacks & whites, beroemd & onbekend, jonger & ouder broederlijk de broeierige dansvloer bevolkten.

Alleen blies Soho minder hoog van de toren. Bewust. Om nogmaals een zekere discretie te kunnen waarborgen voor de bezoeker die feestvieren 'serieus' neemt. Nu Soho 20 jaar bestaat willen we vieren, dat we de eerste twee decennia van de 21ste eeuw een constante stroom aan succesvolle, sexy clubnights hebben gegeven. Avonden waarvoor internationale party-animals zelfs naar Amsterdam kwamen.

Dat vieren doen we aan de hand van een high energy en verrassingsprogramma in de Soho feestmaand van juni. Daarvoor hebben alle bekende Soho players onder leiding van musical director en dance-pionier Rob Boskamp de koppen bij elkaar gestoken om tot een afgewogen en super opwindend programma te komen.
