Proudly presenting "The other Academy; Act-your-interior". In the spirit of our own artistic practice, we - Van 't Hullenaar & Vis - have designed an intense one week program for all 1st year KABK students in collaboration with Maria Pask and many other inspiring KABK tutors and alumni.

"The other Academy: Act-your-interior" is a speculative scenario - where students get immersed in an experimental ‘deep learning’ experience. VTH&V believes that artists are unique vessels of incarnated intuitive knowledge and therefore the artist of the future should be trained to become both the ‘carrier’ as well as the ‘medium’ of this knowledge. In other words: We need to accept that as artists we embody our own future physical matter and should learn how to shape it!
To explore this idea we invited KABK 1st year students to ‘enrol’ @ The other Academy for one week, in which they are challenged to activate body and mind via an elaborate Archive of Exercises.

VOTE is Done!!!
All the way from Bogotá, Colombia () we made sure our (left!!) VOTE was executed in NL - thanks to fantastic loved ones Arnoud Zelf and Magali Meijers!

This place really confronts us with the necessity of honest (non-corrupt) democracy, equal chances for all (especially for the young; talking about education), and need of caring for our planet (flora & fauna) before, or above, the economic benefit that only serves a happy few. Therefore it makes us feel humble and fortunate while realizing our advantage position to actually have chance to at least influence our future by our: VOTE!

Last friday together with the people of FLORA we walked an ancient indigenous trail at Parc Matarredonda in the mountains east of Bogota, up to the border where trees can still grow in this climate, at about 3500m!! Just a short recap in pictures of the amazing views and special plant life we encountered there.

Wow!!! Its official: We are super happy, honored and proud that Van ’t Hullenaar & Vis is selected for the residency program at FLORA ars+natura* in Bogotá, Colombia in 2017 by The Mondriaan Fund!!!
Van ’t Hullenaar & Vis will take part of the FLORA ars+natura Escuela program from feb-dec 2017 (10 months) - under guidance of directors José Roca and Adriana Hurtado. VTH&V will focus on their ongoing venture: 'The Man-Made History of Today' and will ‘grow’ their 'Versions Colombia' during this period.
