I took the train to experience American Diner in the Netherlands so travelled more than 2 hours to arrive in Roosendaal, a quiet city, part of North Brabant Province. This is the last video from 2024, we are about to enter in 2025, wish you all a happy, healthy, wealthy new year!

I walked through the old town area of Amsterdam city on a Sunday morning just after Sunrise. Visited the mos popular shops, restaurants, spots to see what's happening on Sunday early morning. Here is the result.

Sinterklaas (Sint Nicolaas) did his annual visit to Amsterdam Today with a lot of gifts, pepermunts (cookie and candy for children) in 17 November 2024. With many helpers, he horsed thru Blauwbridge, Rembrandtplein, Utrechtsestraat and finally ended in Leidseplein. Along the route, he greeted the children and helpers gave thousands of small gifts.

Amsterdam is dancing for it's demonstration rights, this year.
Thousands of people danced through Amsterdam to preserve the right to demonstrate.

Right to demonstrate under pressure Several protests in the Netherlands have recently been confronted with unlawful police action. ADEV (Amsterdam Danst Ergens Voor), the organization behind the march, also faced repression in 2022. After 10 years of peaceful demonstrations, the police acted particularly aggressively, attacking and arresting dozens of innocent demonstrators. This is not an isolated incident: Amnesty International published a report this week on the right to demonstrate under pressure in the Netherlands. One of the controversial measures that the government is investigating is the banning of face coverings during demonstrations.

Balaclava fashion show: A creative call for protest ADEV underlines the importance of anonymity for people who cannot simply participate in the public debate. “With this ban, the government criminalizes protesters and limits their freedom of expression,” says Mike Vermaak, one of the organizers of ADEV. As a protest, ADEV organizes a balaclava fashion show during the march, where participants are encouraged to wear colorful and creative face coverings. Furthermore, more than 10 sound trucks will be present that, just like every year, will drive a route through the city, followed by thousands of supporters.

About ADEV The subversive parade of Amsterdam Danst Ergens Voor (ADEV) is a collective movement of squats, sound systems and sympathizers that dances through the streets of Amsterdam every year on the third Saturday of October. Every year this collective feels the urgent need, in contrast to the simultaneous ADE, to dance for something: for affordable housing, for the right to demonstrate and for a squat-friendly city.
