A doubling in spring break bookings! More than 70% of the Dutch opt for a holiday abroad. A remarkable fact is that last year 95% of bookings went to a destination in the Netherlands. This year it’s only 28% of bookings. ✈️

Scientific research by the Leiden University Medical Center and Eurocross shows that Dutch winter sports enthusiasts often overestimate their qualities on the slopes. About 90% of the men and 64% of the women estimate their level to be higher than it actually is. An additional risk in this ski season is the lesser preparation due to, among other things, the closure of the gyms in the last months.

Although snowshoe hikes seem a bit slow and maybe even boring, the opposite is the truth! With snowshoes, you can get off the beaten path and explore the surroundings of the ski pistes. 🏔A lot slower than on skis, but a lot of time to walk off-piste and enjoy unique views and explore the footprints of the animals in the area. 🐾 And for those interested in burning calories: snowshoe walking can be quite intense!
