With the highest postgraduate programmes totaling 529 and a total of over 7,000 postgraduate students population, the Ahmadu Bello University is the right place for your advance study needs.

The Vice-Chancellor assured both fresh and old postgraduate students that measures were already in place to ensure that they graduated within the stipulated period of their studies.

The university received a total of 6,953 postgraduate applications for the 2024/2025 academic session. A total of 5384 applicants met the rigorous admission criteria and consequently were recommended for admission.

3587 had successfully been screened and over 95 percent had so far completed their registration formalities. This number comprised 725 PhD students, 57 MPhil, 2558 Masters Degree students and 371 PhD students.

ABU ENACTUS TEAM WINS €1,500 AT 2025 SCHNEIDER BATTERY INNOVATION CONTEST IN LAGOS

Ahmadu Bello University's Enactus team has won a grand prize of €1,500 after coming second at the just-concluded Schneider Battery Innovation competition.

The contest, '2025 Schneider Battery Innovation Challenge 2.0', was organised at the Civic Centre, Lekki, Lagos on 2nd July, 2025.

The ABU team won the prize on the strength of its unique and innovative battery management system integrated with artificial intelligence called 'CELL METRIX'.

Cell metrix is a modular system designed to predict battery failures and downtimes.

This is in addition to taking proactive steps and measures in preventing the failures, thereby increasing battery life, efficiency and reducing downtime caused by thermal runoffs, insufficient charging, among other problems.

Cell metrix also combines the power of artificial intelligence in predictive analysis based on data analysis and securing patterns and it is a mix of both a hardware component and software tools.

The six other students, who represented the university at the contest, were Daniel Chukwueloka (Department of Civil Law), Theophilus Benjamin (Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering), and Sherifideen Yusuf (Department of Computer Science).

They also included John Adeyemi (Department of Human Physiology), Maryam Yunus (Chemical Engineering), and Ramatu Idakwo (Department of Accounting).
