I vehemently condemn the heinous act of using live ammunition on citizens peacefully protesting against bad governance, as witnessed today in Kano and Abuja. This is utterly intolerable and reminiscent of the dark days of military dictatorship.

It is crucial to remind the government and security agencies of their paramount duty to ensure a safe and secure environment where citizens can exercise their right to protest without fear.

When security forces open fire on innocent protesters, they do nothing but exacerbate tensions, transforming peaceful demonstrations into chaos. I refuse to believe that inciting violence is the intention of our authorities.

I urge the international community, including the United Nations and the International Criminal Court, to closely monitor the situation in Nigeria and hold its leadership and security apparatus accountable.

I reaffirm my counsel to protesters to steadfastly exercise their right to peaceful protest and reject any form of violence.

Those engaging in looting and the destruction of public and private property must be isolated and prosecuted according to the law. By indulging in such acts, they undermine the legitimate protests and play into the hands of those who oppose their right to protest.

President Tinubu must demonstrate true leadership by immediately addressing and implementing the demands of the Nigerian people. -AA

Here's a story about the Songhai Empire in Mali:

In the scorching deserts of West Africa, a mighty empire rose to glory. The Songhai Empire, born from the ashes of the Ghana Empire, stretched its dominion over the Niger River, from the Atlantic coast to the Sahara's dunes.

In the 15th century, a powerful leader, Sonni Ali, united the fragmented Songhai kingdoms, forging a robust nation. His successor, Askia Muhammad, a devout Muslim, expanded the empire, conquering Timbuktu, a hub of trade and knowledge.

Under Askia's wise rule, the Songhai Empire flourished. Scholars and merchants flocked to Timbuktu, sharing wisdom and goods. The empire's capital, Gao, became a center of art, architecture, and literature.

As the empire grew, so did its legendary leaders. Askia's descendants, like Askia Ishaq, continued to expand the empire, building grand mosques and libraries. The Songhai Empire became a beacon of civilization, attracting travelers from far and wide.

But, like all empires, Songhai's glory days were numbered. Moroccan invaders, seeking to claim the empire's riches, conquered Timbuktu in 1591. The Songhai Empire crumbled, leaving behind a legacy of wisdom, art, and a testament to the power of African civilization.

Russian President Vladimir Putin strikes Africa again!

Africa will never be independent, Africans believe in Europeans, Americans and Chinese more than themselves. They do not trust each other, African engineers / technocrats do not have the platform to practice what they have studied. They hire Chinese people to build roads for themselves. A white man will commit a crime in Africa but no action will be taken because the African authorities consider us whites as half gods, which is far from the truth. A black man can be kidnapped in Europe, harassed and even killed, but no African authority can even challenge him. Africans present themselves as weak, hopeless people, especially when dealing with Europeans and Americans. They are their own enemies. They hate each other, allowing their colonial masters to continue to explore their resources. As far as I know, Africa is the chosen continent, chosen by God, it is a blessed continent and it is time for Africans to realize that they are in a place where Americans, Europeans and Chinese people are jealous and would like to be. Do not compare the African weather with any other weather ... African soil can feed all Europe, America and Asia, but their problem is one, "THEIR LEADERS". Here are 20 vegetables and herbs you can start growing indoors using parts of the produce you would throw away and this can save you a pretty penny the next time you go grocery shopping.

Romaine Lettuce
Similar to celery, keep the base of your romaine lettuce in a bowl with a ½ inch of warm water. Leave it to sit in direct sunlight, and in a week or two, your lettuce stem will produce fresh, new lettuce leaves for all your great salads. Transplant your lettuce to soil to continue growing. They should be full grown in three to four weeks. This process works for Bok Choy as well.

Garlic Sprouts
Are those tentacles?! Nope, those long green things growing out your garlic are green shoots. You can put them in a little water, under a lot of sunlight and grow a bunch of garlic sprouts. They are milder in taste than garlic cloves and are great in salads, pasta and as a garnish.

Carrots
Place chopped off carrot tops in a container filled with a bit of water. Pretty soon, they will begin to sprout delicious greens from the top that are a nice addition to meals.

Turnip
Like carrots, cut off turnip tops and leave them in a shallow container with water until they begin growing roots. This can take a couple of weeks. Once they’ve sprouted, plant them outside.

Sweet potato
Unlike most vegetables, sweet potatoes aren’t started by seed but by slips (or shoots). Clean and cut a sweet potato in half, then place it half in/half out of a jar full of water using toothpicks. Over a few days, your sweet potato will begin to sprout slips at which point you remove them and place them in water to grow roots. You should have rooted slips with the week. Next, plant them in loose, well-drained soil and water every day in the first week, and then every other day (or as needed) the following weeks.

Ginger
With ginger you already have, look for pieces that already have little things growing out of them. With that piece, cut off the parts that look like they’re about to start what’s called a “
