Nigerians Are Now Eligible to Monetize Content, But I've Already Found My Own Path to Six Figures Monthly.

Excitement increased among Nigerians yesterday as news broke that they can now monetize their content on Facebook. This announcement marks a significant breakthrough for a country with limited opportunities.

While many celebrate this, I have a different perspective. Personally, this development hasn't impacted me much—I've been earning six figures monthly from Facebook over the past year without relying on its content monetization.

Facebook, when used effectively, is a lucrative platform. Instead of waiting for its monetization features, why not explore alternative income streams on the platform?

Nobody is talking about these monetization ideas for storytellers asides from coaching.

(Extra Ways to Make Money from Storytelling).

1. Self-publishing eBooks.

Write and publish your stories as eBooks on platforms like Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing. You can earn royalties from each sale.

Favour Light David is your go-to for Amazon Self-publishing.

Another way is to sell to your audience directly and run Ads to get the eBook to more eyes.

2. Audio storytelling.

Create and sell audiobooks of your stories on platforms like Audible or ACX .

Also, start a podcast where you narrate your stories and monetize through sponsorships, donations, or premium content.

3. Online storytelling platforms.

Join platforms like Wattpad (or any other platform) where you can publish your stories for free and earn money through ad revenue sharing programs, subscriptions, or by offering premium content to readers.

Rita Nnamani can help you with this.

4. Freelance writing.

This is very lucrative.

Offer your storytelling skills as a freelance writer for websites, blogs, or content marketing agencies.

You can write articles, short stories, or even scripts for online videos or animations.

To earn in foreign currencies, you can work on Upwork or Fiverr.

Esther Chukwu is your go-to for Upwork training.

5. Content creation for social media.

Create engaging stories for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube.

Monetize your content through brand partnerships, sponsored content, or by selling merchandise related to your stories (I will explain more on this merchandise). 👇🏽

6. Merchandise and merchandise licensing:

Create merchandise such as t-shirts, mugs, or posters featuring characters or quotes from your stories.

You can sell these items on platforms like Etsy or Redbubble, or explore merchandise licensing agreements with companies interested in your intellectual property.

Moreover, you can sell it to those who buys your hook for a lesser price or for free (so the value of the book will be increased).

7. Collaborate with game developers.

Partner with game developers to write storylines, dialogue, or character arcs for video games. You can negotiate royalties or upfront payments for your contributions.

8. Story-based consulting.

Offer consulting services to businesses, nonprofits, or individuals who need help crafting compelling narratives for their branding, marketing campaigns, or presentations.

9. Narration for audiobooks or commercials.

Utilize your storytelling skills by narrating audiobooks, commercials, or educational videos.

You can find voiceover opportunities on platforms like Fiverr or Upwork.

I will need a laptop before I can succeed with content creation.

(Well, who told you that?)

I have used content creation to:

- Be on my way to making 200,000 monthly.
- Be on the friend list of some influencers.
- Teach over 3000 people within a year.
